HS (Y/n) will be referred to as Angelus to make it easier to differentiate the two and HS Shattered Dream will be referred to as Shattered (whereas I continued calling him Dream in HS). It would definitely be helpful to have read His Summoner but not mandatory as long as you don't mind a couple spoilers - this is just for funsies to compare the two versions and give the characters reunions with old friends they might not have in their timeline anymore.

It was many weeks later and things had settled down beautifully. Dream checked on his boys in the Underverse and found they were doing fantastic—they'd taken over Nightmare's castle as the Star Sanses' new base of operations, and Dream was proud of all they'd accomplished. Change wasn't liable to happen overnight, especially when it came to demon norms, but it did sound like the Stars were inspiring other demons not to kill each other, and though (Y/n) thought it was a far-fetched dream, she wished them luck all the same.

Dream stepped out of the summoning circle, stretching his weary bones as his mate smiled up at him in her customary all black outfit, the same one she wore the first day she summoned him. Stars, he had missed her. He scooped her up into his arms, hearing the summoning ritual book thump to the floor as she hugged him back just as snugly. They'd kept up communication through their thoughts, being in different universes having no impact on their ability to talk to each other, and Ink made more than enough comments about how Dream should 'get off the phone with his girlfriend' to last a lifetime.

(Y/n) felt her whole body relax into Dream's positive aura, his familiarity making her feel at home again. It wasn't the same without him around the house, and while she'd done well not falling back into the rhythm she'd formed when she was completely alone—with mental encouragement from Dream—it still wasn't easy. Waylon stopped by every now and then, keeping his word to bring his stepdaughter in under his wing, and she felt right at home at his side. How their relationship got to the point it did was a miracle, but to have a father figure in her life was more than appreciated. She'd just gotten back from an outing with her new dad when Dream told her he was ready to come back to her.

They stayed in an intimate embrace for a long time, but when they finally parted, Dream's golden eyelights glowed lovingly down at her. "I hope you did not miss me too much?" He sounded concerned as he searched through her emotions, looking for any damage she might've sustained by his leaving her for a month.

"I'm fine now that you're here." She cupped his face in her hands, leaning up on her toes so he'd bend down and kiss her. The kiss was slow and warm, and it filled her completely with positivity—which elicited a chuckle from the King.

"I missed you too, my dear." He held her there for a long moment, simply basking in the presence he'd missed so much, before his eyelights flickered up to her bedroom. "If you have nothing else planned for the day, I would not mind simply relaxing with you in your room." She wasn't exactly sure if they had beds in the Underverse, but even if they did, they probably didn't get used nor was his sleep as good without her, so she took his hand with an adoring smile.

"I'd love that." She'd be happy with anything as long as it was with him. "Hopefully you remember where it is?" The time between his being here and the sheer difference between the Underverse and her world made teleporting a risky maneuver since he couldn't necessarily remember the layout of her house as well, and that was a crucial part of teleporting: knowing where he was teleporting to.

"I am admittedly a little worn out, but we should not end up in a wall." He squeezed her hand in his, then concentrated on teleporting and the ground disappeared from beneath her feet. Where they appeared next she didn't recognize, and she spun around with confusion as Dream blinked. "I...am unsure if the wall would have been preferable."
