"And you are completely certain this is necessary?" Dream asked as he looked between his mate, Waylon, Slash, and Silver. Silver and Slash were in their human forms, and as soon as (Y/n) saw Silver, she realized she recognized him. He had silver hair and eyes, tanned skin, and stood slightly taller than Slash—the exact description of the mysterious man she and Slash saw in the grocery store right before they teleported home. Waylon wanted them in human form so if they ran into anyone, the person wouldn't know the two were demons, and the brothers were always happy to work together to help their humans out.
"Waylon's in pain and I don't trust Ink to make pain medication," (Y/n) said, her tone serious but eyes warm as she looked up at Dream. "It'll just be a quick trip—get in, get out, and maybe see if we can figure out what Mrs. Waylon's up to."
"And I don't believe being drunk is the best course of action right now," Waylon muttered, his arms crossed as he tried to hide his grit teeth. The pain was still there, his wound not completely healed, and with the end being so close, giving him alcohol to dull the pain wasn't the best plan. They needed everyone at peak performance, and at (Y/n)'s insistence they needed pain meds so she wouldn't have to expire her magic supply, Waylon mentioned there was a doctor at his company that could help them.
"We're going with," Slash added brightly, putting his hands confidently on his hips.
Silver nodded at that. "If anything goes wrong, we'll get them out of there immediately."
Dream gazed down at (Y/n). "How long will this take?"
"It won't be long," she assured him, smiling just to ease his mind. He visibly relaxed at it, feeling her confidence as well as the others' and nodding finally.
"Be quick, bellator." He glanced at the other demons around the kitchen table—who he had been talking to before the humans walked over. While (Y/n) and Waylon slept, the others had been gearing up to take down Mrs. Waylon and Dream was leading the charge. With Error gone and his plan fully explained only to Dream, Dream took it upon himself to break it down for the others and cement the final steps while Mrs. Waylon and Nightmare were still reeling from what happened. They had a small window of time to attack and finish this—with Nightmare injured, Dust dead, and Waylon's betrayal still fresh, Mrs. Waylon was likely still recovering and assuming they were doing the same, but with all the vigor in the room, everybody was ready to finish this now and mentally work through what happened later.
"With any luck, my man on the inside will be able to tell me what the Mrs. has planned," Waylon said curtly, adjusting the cuff of a dress shirt Ink made him. He wasn't trying to make a big deal of this little escapade, but he did need the demons' help so they could teleport back and forth—taking the ones with a human form to avoid raising suspicion—and (Y/n) coming along would help Waylon keep an eye on her and let Dream focus. If she was as burnt out from this whole excursion as he was, then he knew she needed some time away from the others—and that wasn't an excuse to hang out with his step-daughter. "He said he had important information for me and the girl."
"Good." Dream nodded in approval. "Nightmare will be able to feel your negative emotions if you have them, so refrain from feeling such. Am I clear?" His concerned gaze swung between them, and after they all gave variations of 'yes', it landed on (Y/n). She felt her whole body fill with positivity and smiled up at him, and he reached out to lightly squeeze her hand. "[Inform me if anything happens.]"
"[You know I will.]"
"Shall we?" Waylon slid his left hand into his pocket and Silver grabbed his elbow, Slash took (Y/n)'s hand as Waylon set his other one on her shoulder, then Silver teleported them all to Waylon's company. They appeared in what looked like some kind of infirmary, and standing in front of them was a doctor with his back to the quartet. He wore a white lab coat, spectacles on his nose, and had graying hair with a bald spot on the top of his head. He was observing a bottle of pills in his hand, mumbling quietly to himself before Waylon cleared his throat. The doctor whirled around, his eyes wide in alarm before they landed on his boss and he put a hand over his racing heart.
