"I have a son," Chenle absentmindedly mumbled, as the scene that flashed in front of him repeated itself in his mind.
"Mark?" Jisung says as he rolls his eyes, assuming that this is just another part of the sitcom that their friend group is into these days.
"No, I really have one," Chenle insisted, now looking at his best friend with a still dumfounded face.
It was true that he mostly treats Mark as a son. That male is older than him for two years, but he is a son-material. Chenle doesn't give a fuck about that now, though, because that baby in a stroller is really his son.
Can a twenty-eight-year-old man fit in a stroller? No.
"Sure, are we reading a script today?" Jisung asks, obviously not on the same page as the latter.
"Park Jisung, did you hit your head or something?"
"Am I supposed to believe that you have a child?"
"You should!" Chenle can't help but raise his voice. He felt annoyed all of a sudden, reminiscing about what happened in the past. "But how? I used a condom."
"Good god!" Jisung exclaimed and looked at his friend with disgust. "What a turn of events. Are we really talking about that now?"
"I JUST SAID I HAVE A SON!" Chenle yelled and tapped on his phone, then showed a picture. "This is what Detective Son sent me awhile ago. Sulhee was really pregnant! I am a dad!"
"Sulhee? Who, Song Sulhee?" Jisung's eyes widened as he zoomed in on the picture. "So this is why she suddenly disappeared into nowhere. Wait, how are you even sure that the baby is yours? And you hired a detective!?"
"Well, duh, she dumped me over the phone and ghosted everyone."
"You're crazy!"
Chenle rolled his eyes and put down his phone. "Are we still on the same page?"
"How are you so sure that the baby is yours?" Jisung asked again.
"Well," Chenle sighed. "We are mates."
"What?"
"I accidentally claimed her the last night we were together."
"WHAT!?"
"We were so out of it. We had our cycles at the same time. It is the perfect time to conceive a child." Chenle facepalmed. "But I am sure that we used protection. I never broke one when we used it."
"Oh, shut up for a minute." Jisung held out his palm as a stop signal and took a few seconds to process everything. "Does Renjun-hyung know?"
"Why the hell is Renjun suddenly dragged into this?"
"They're best friends. Glued to the hip."
Chenle only shrugged and sighed. "This is a mess."
"Talk about it. What really happened, anyway? You were both so disgustingly in love. Why did you break up?"
"I was engaged, remember? A marriage of convenience."
"Then? You never got married."
"She didn't know. She knew about the marriage the same night that we broke up."
"That's it? A misunderstanding?"
"Why do you think my car suddenly acted up in the same place she was?"
"I don't know. You're just unlucky."
"Fate, idiot." Chenle smacked the other's head. He then heaved a sigh, putting on a game face. "She ran away with my child. I'm going to bring her back."
"Sure, you do it," Jisung said in a mocking tone while rubbing his head. "Think about all the reasons why she did it while you're at it."
Chenle nodded and started planning in his mind. "They're mine. She won't escape me this time."
