Sulhee woke up with little hands kneading her leg. She doesn't have to process it any longer, considering that she's used to having her sleep cut off by this little ball of sunshine.
Sulhee peeled her eyes open and immediately came face-to-face with the baby dressed in a cute jumpsuit, laying in his stomach while his hands still pressed on her leg continuously. That's when she got to take a closer look at the jumpsuit, which she recognized as a new one.
Sulhee carried the baby up to let him sit on her stomach, and at the same time, her mom entered the room while holding a big box.
"Mom? What's that?"
"Oh good, you're awake. I was about to wake you up. Here," Bora said, placing the box on the floor beside the bed.
Sulhee carefully sat up, placing Daehoon on the bed to crawl around. Both Sulhee and Bora sat on the floor, ripping the tape, and finally opened the cover.
They flinched in surprise when balloons escaped. It was tied to something—another box but smaller.
Daehoon was clapping, and his eyes never left the balloons while Sulhee cautiously lifted the smaller box. When she opened it to see what it was, she gasped when she saw countless baby clothes, socks, towels, milk bottles, and even diapers.
She spotted a small card, which she picked out and read.
"Hello, angel. I hope this present finds you well. Thank you for giving me a little bit of your time yesterday. I'm grateful that you let me meet our little one too. Please accept this. All love from..." she paused and looked at her mom. "Chenle,"
"That's why the sender was from Zhong Group," Bora said. "I was cautious, thinking that it's from his parents. There's a bouquet of flowers though; it's on downstairs."
"I don't recognize that jumpsuit too, mom." Sulhee pointed at the clothes worn by the baby, who's now excitedly playing with the balloons.
"Oh, it's from Jeno. He sent a package yesterday when you were out. I forgot to tell you."
Sulhee took a mental note to thank her friend. She should be talking to Jeno right now, but this package from Chenle is somehow restricting her from doing so.
It's not like Sulhee isn't thankful. She's grateful that the alpha is starting to take his part as Daehoon's father too, but it just felt sudden and totally unplanned. Sure, she received countless gifts for the baby, but from his dad? It's the first time.
Sulhee knows that Chenle won't give up either. It's in his nature. Alpha fathers will do everything just for their family. Their weakness is their children. Chenle bonded with his baby for the first time yesterday, and yet Daehoon felt his father's warmth the moment his eyes landed on him.
Sulhee felt scared. A little more, and Daehoon will be longing for his father's presence again.
"You met him yesterday?"
"I'm sorry."
"What are you sorry for?" Bora pats her head. "Take your time, sweetie. Chenle is patient. He'll understand."
