"Raghu!" We heard Akanksha's voice from the doorstep of my cabin.

"C'mon." Raghu told her and she cane inside without even glancing at me.

Now, it's getting awkward to me.

"How is your mission going on?" She asked while looking at our maps and plans.

"Actually, this mission is kinda different. We won't be available at office for the next two years I think so.." Raghu said looking at me and I sighed.

"Transfer?"

"No. No. It is just because of our mission. We have to find the production and distribution areas all around out state. Students get supplied easily. We have to investigate this, undercover." He said.

"Undercover? As a teacher?"

We both looked at eachother and then at her.

"No. As Students. We don't have professional degrees of any subject." I said and she didn't even look at me. I know she's feeling the same awkwardness as me.

But it hurts to see her avoiding me as we used to be goodfriends. Why does this thing 'love' has to exist in this world? I hate that word.

Can't a man and a woman be friends forever?

"Students?" She asked being utterly shocked. Raghu nodded.

She took few minutes to comprehend.

"But.. you both don't look like school kids." She mumbled making us laugh.

"We have to find some way to transform ourselves. I just hope it turns out well." Raghu added after her.

"Don't worry. You will do the best. Wish you all luck! Okay.. I'll be get going. Hope you'll come to the party." She said and smiled at Raghu.

She went towards the door and turned to look at me. She sighed sadly and nodded her head.

"You too." She said and I smiled. I nodded my head and she left.

"What's that between you both? You rejected her again?" Raghu asked and I looked at him with sadness and guilt.

She'd been the best woman I've met so far. Kind and humble. She's rich and well educated. She is ready to sacrifice all her happiness for the job she undertook.

She looks after her family and her friends even before herself. When Raghu lost himself after his mother's death, I had not known what to do for him but she cheered him up.

Whenever I needed help, she lended her hand to it. Whenever I felt like I was becoming a failure, she and Raghu pushed me further.

That's why they are my bestfriends and I can do anything for them.

"Vir.. it might be hard for you. It's your young age I know. You cannot marry her now, I know. But her parents are pressuring her to marry someone within an year. And grandma want to see you settling down before she closes her eyes. Vansh needs a mother-figure too. Think about it."

I was silent.

"I don't pressurize you to be committed to her. Just think about it. But I'm just gonna support you anyways. I just don't want you to regret anything later on," He said and stood up. I stood too.

"Raghu.. How could I accept her without love? It will be a betrayal to her." I mumbled and he just chuckled.

"If she's the right person, you'd fall for her eventually. And day after tomorrow is the party. I hope you both resolve this by then. I'm getting uncomfortable staying between you both." He said and hugged me.
