My sleep was unsettled once again in the middle of the night by my son's high-pitched cry. I twisted my body over the bed to turn to my right to look at baby's crib which was being cradled gently by his mother.

Her untied long hair was the only thing visible other than her tired, drowsy eyes. I immediately set off from the bed as it it's on fire. My abrupt movement startled and stiffened my wife as she placed her hand over her chest. Her widened eyes relaxed looking at me then again widened as if realising something.

She shook her head and parted her lips before closing it again.

"Sorry. He was just fed and placed to sleep but.." she whispered while her eyes trailed to our baby to meet his complaints and whines.

I smiled as I walked towards her. I placed me one had behind her head, caressing her hair.

"Take some rest, Madhvi."

She looked at me with something indescribable but still understandable. She was searching for surety in my voice as if I'm baffling some nonsense. I raised my eyebrows and she gave me an unbelievable look.

"Are you off your mind, Vir? You've literally did all the chore around the house. I did nothing but sitting here and there doing nothing but holding our son. Now you wanna do that too? Don't take so much on yourself," she argued with an adorable pout as she carried our son off the crib and started cradling him in her arms.

"Wah Madhvi. You always find right time to argue!" I said mockingly with a irritable smirk which made her blaze in anger and embarrassment.

I'm sure as hell that she's planning to scratch my face.

I chuckled making her heave a sigh to control her anger.

"I'm not cooking up any argument. I didn't called you for any help. Go and get some sleep."

"We've done an agreement about your resting period. You're a new mama who needs as much rest as our baby. For your kind information, I didn't carry our son for eight months being a teen. So you know what I mean.." I said making her look at me with uncertainty.

"I'm alright. Really. And now that my sleep is already been disrupt, I don't think I'd sleep any sooner. I want to have him in my arms for a while. You must understand that we dad-son duo need to bond too. Don't be selfish," I said with a smirk make her shake her head lightly as if contemplating. She then sighed.

"Okay. Fine. Have him and enjoy your night. Don't bother me with your complaints in the morning. Goodnight!" She said before handing my child and walking towards the bed, rubbing her face.

I smiled looking at her as she pulled her treasure like longhair to a side before laying down and pulling the sheets to her chin. Her tiresome eyes were still fixed with mine as I locked our eyes while I cradled my still crying son. I tightly shut my eyes and opened them to signal her to sleep. She, as if decoded the information, she slowly closed her eyes and drifted to her sound, heavy sleep.

My son whimpered in my hold to gain my attention on him as I paused my cradling unknowingly.

"C'mon my champ. Let's not disturb your mama."

It was a tough job pacifying him. I'll say this now and forever that these qualities were took after from his beloved mother. But she'll never accept that in this life.

I looked down to find him already fast asleep. His gently, soft fists were holding my shirt in possession making my eyes water with this untold love. I remisiced the feel of having Vansh in my arms again after ten years. But what different was that Vansh was a part along me and the one sleeping in my arms was a part of me.
