Chapter 31

" I'll be back soon. Dont come outside.", he said patting my hand which he was holding.

" you please take care of yourself. Don't stress too much with work ", i insisted and he nodded.

He's visiting the construction site today. I'm worried but he didn't give room to it. He then slowly walked no ran towards the place.

Him and his punctuality..

No one would've have imagined the school topper to suffer like this. He deserve to go to college and work in a big place and not as labour.

I went inside the hut. I saw it all dusty so I decided to clean it. I tide my shawl around my face to avoid dust entering my nose.

I cleaned the place all tidy. I washed the utensils clean as he said he'd buy some groceries if he get advance.

It was the evening.. heard a knock at the door. It must be him.

I went and opened the door and he frowned. I looked at him in confusion. He's not smiling?

" Why did you open the door without knowing who is it? ", he asked me.

" But I know it must you ", I said and he shook his head in disbelief. But smiled.

I saw some bags in his hands. He came inside and gave me.

" These many things? ", I asked.

" They gave me the advance. So I bought some groceries, a blanket, a lamp and few clothes for ourselves. ", he said.

" You managed? ", I asked with a smile and he nodded.

He went and started cooking as he lit the fire on the wood. We don't have stove facility here. I kept the pot over it. Actually.. I know only little cooking but he's an expert. I wish I had all his skills. Why am I envying him?

Wish he was mine...

We ate and I felt tears as I missed his food a lot. He smiled.

" No more crying from today.. from tomorrow, we'll live for ourselves and our child. I hope for a beautiful beginning. ", he said.

Isn't he the one who said we are not marrying?

" But why should we begin if it ends abruptly? ", I mumbled. He heard it too.

" Care to explain? "

" I.. I said that we are gonna separate anyways as we are not married. Then why.. ", I stopped as his expression changed from smile to sad.

" You're going to leave me? ", he asked me and I was shocked. I looked at him who was hurt. His eyes reflected hurt. I blinked my eyes.

" No.. but you said we can't marry ", I said and he was confused.

" Yes.. I'm sure we can't marry now. But what does it mean to separation? ", he asked.

" What? If we are not marrying then obviously we are separating right? ", I asked.

" So you haven't heard what i said yesterday? "

" When? "

" Just before you fainted.. ", he said.

Then only I remembered him saying something to me which I didn't paid heed and fainted.

I facepalmed myself and he laughed. I felt too shame.

" W-what did you say? ", I asked being embarrassed.

" After you'll turn eighteen.. we'll marry. It's the only reason I'm not marrying you already.. ", he said with a smile and I blushed profusely.
