She slapped him hard. She was sobbing her heart out. She was venting all her anger, hurt and agony out. My eyes welled up looking at her, all broken like shattered shards of glasses. So sharp and fierce.
She grabbed her collars and shook him with every strength she gained. Speaking through her tears. She started to beat him with everything she had. I tried to hold her from behind but she was a crying mess. I pulled her away from him, forcibly.
She grabbed my shirt for support. I grabbed her from slipping away.
Her tears were disturbing my heart.
"Please forgive me.." she whimpered with joined hands. My hands automatically wrapped around hers and pulled it down. I shook my head.
"You were never at fault. You'd never be!"
Shyam spoke something and was crying hysterically. I looked at him and made my way towards him.
"Enough! Go home!" I said. It was already late in the evening. He must so soon and Madhvi too.
"Go.. you have people to take care of. You have responsibilities. Go and do that. I can solve my problems and don't ever feel guilty for anything. You did nothing intentionally. It all happened. Abd you know.. my stars are really bad. They don't like me being happy. But you.. deserve happiness," I continued.
"Vir.. how can you- "
"Shyam!! Just leave. Forget like it never happened. It's my request.." I pleaded. Shyam took a few steps backwards with tears and ran away from us.
I looked at his fading figure. What a boy? I once wanted to strangle him but now, I couldn't even let him cry. How weird life is? I learnt it within an year or so.
I heard her feeble voice, which was more like a whisper.
"I.. I am sorry."
"You don't have to!" I said.
Definitely she was not even the last person to apologize. She never should. We all who hurt her must lay at her feet. Especially me!
"But I hurted you by calling you a drug addict when you never did that."
I wiped her tears off her cheeks. Still the little innocent woman she once was.
But suddenly a slap sent me to the ground. I was startled and it stinger where the slap lingered. I could say even when blinded, that the slap wasn't by Madhvi's hands but a lot stronger person.
"Vir!!" She gasped.
"How dare you touched my sister?" A voice roared. A familiar voice but not the familiar tone.
I looked up and saw Anuj standing in front if me. His chest was rising up and down as he blazed in anger. I know I was going to face his wrath one day or another but never expected it to be this sooner.
"Sir.."
"Shut up!!"
His eyes were burning holes into my head.
"Brother.." she tried but he pushed her away with a sharp glare pointed at her.
"Dont try to save this bastard from me. Why didn't you tell me the day when it all happened?" He yelled at her.
Please don't hurt her..
I wanted to say but how? After what he assumed I did to her, I cannot even tell him the whole thing.
"Now you're pregnant?" He asked and pestered more. She was edged by him and she nodded helplessly.
He turned towards me and his hand met my cheek again. He started thrashing me with himself breaking down.
