"Mr.Singhania, it's a boy!"
My whole world halted hearing the words as I heard the voice behind me. My hands tightened on the steel corrider railing I was gripping. My head ducked down. Tears streamed down my cheeks.
Mr.Singhania, it's a boy!
A baby boy!!
Silent sobs left my mouth as I took my time controlling myself. I wiped my eyes with my sleeve and took a deep breathe before turned to the nurse, who was holding my.. my child!
My hands trembled as I stretched them out for my baby. She placed him on my hands. My eyes fixed on my calm little bundle of joy. My eyes welled up again within a second and my lips wobbled looking at him. I sobbed again.
Those were the tears of happiness. Endless happiness and gratitude for his safe arrival to my arms.
"You made it my baby, you made it!" I cried hugging him to my chest gently. He shifted slightly to snuggle to me.
It made me sob more.
"So, Vir! How are you feeling now?" Docter abd my Sharda asked me with a smile.
I smiled back and her and looking at my prince, not even bothering to stop crying.
"Is this even a question?" I said with my eyes looking at him with longing. But my smile vanished suddenly with the thought of Madhvi. I panicked. I looked at her with worry and hope to meet my wife safe and sound.
I cannot lose her.
"Madhvi?"
"She's fine."
I sighed in relief and I nodded. But I must make sure she is orelse I'll go mad.
"I want to see her." I said and walked towards the ward and she followed me hurriedly. I watched her through the translucent door. I pushed it open to meet her sleeping form.
She was serene and soundly sleeping. I noticed her chest slightly heaving up and down with ger every breathe and I smiled. She's fine but tired. She must be hungry as well.
I walked in and stood beside her without making slightest of any noise that could disturb her peaceful sleep.
"Don't worry Vir! She's just tired." She said and I nodded.
"But.." she dragged making me snap my head towards her in confusion.
But? What but? I don't want any but.
"Calm down. We must speak about this." She said placing her gentle palm over my shoulder. I looked at Madhvi for a few seconds before bending down to place our child beside her. I bent more forward to plant a kiss to Madhvi's forehead.
It calmed my mind a little but still a great havoc broke into my heart thinking about what might it be.
I then looked at sister and nodded.
"Vir, I need to tell you some important things. Post-natal care is very needed to every new mother as well as the newborn. Continue to treat her the way you did during her pregnancy. Bring her for regular check ups. Let her have skin to skin bond with her child for first few weeks. And mainly she shouldn't be distressed."
I looked at her intently and nodded her to continue. But she seemed hesitant.
"Due to her early labor, she might have some postpartum complications."
"What?" I panicked and she placed her hand over my arm.
"It can be cured. Don't worry. Bring her to me regularly. We can surely help it. But then, I know this pregnancy is unplanned and shocking to you both." She said and inhaled a breath before looking into my eyes.
