It's impalpable on the back of a dragon high in the clouds, but the rescission of a contract that managed to bind the Seven Sins – the very embodiment of humankind's tainted, ill nature – and keep them contained for almost 250 years equals a shift in the universe, like tectonic plates finally snapping back into place after being misaligned for what seems like an eternity.

For a brief moment after its dissolution, the people living around the underground cave feel a sudden rush of heat strike their skin as if standing too close by a fire, and at the same time, the scent of scorched earth fills the air.

And while the humans still wonder and look around, afraid one of their houses has caught on fire, the sky – so far only specked with few cloudlets ignorant to the coming tempest – is suddenly overcast with threatening, blue clouds before the floodgates open.

Down below, the darkness of the cave grows even darker, the shadows slowly emerging from the feet of the Seven swallowing every last ray of light that may make it this far.

They all can feel it – whatever strength they may feel when consuming a soul pales in comparison to being freed from these invisible shackles they have been carrying around their wrists.

The sky above is mirroring the dams that just broke within them, no longer capable of holding back the power that is now surging through their bodies, painfully breaking against their skin and threatening to split it open if they remain in this form any longer. It is simply unfit to contain the full potential of what they are, and their silhouettes blur with the need to change to something else, something more demonic, something more powerful.

Greed takes a deep, long breath, filled with the avarice of more than two hundred years, and then looks back to Wrath and the others, his eyes so wide and red they could set the air ablaze.

"Finally", he grinds, the sound pushing the borders of what a human throat is capable of producing. "We have been waiting for long enough."

"Indeed we have."

Even though his form is still human, Wrath's voice is not, sounding like a thousand war cries and moans of death gripped and squeezed into one.

"And now it's time."

The grin flashing across his face is much too wide and has way too many teeth, contorting his façade into a mask of sheer terror as his skin attempts to stretch around it.

"We have a war to win."

The sudden surge of raw power and the world seeming to tremble with fear in response might have gone unnoticed by you, but it certainly didn't escape your dragon.

Heishe's understanding of the consequences your actions had, of the reality of the impending war, washes over you through the connection between your minds, and then it heavily settles in your whole body and refuses to leave.

Have we really thought this through?, you think to yourself. More importantly, are you ready for what is about to come?

The doom of what is inevitably waiting for you in the future is like a giant boulder suddenly being dropped on you from above, and for the first time in what feels like forever, you feel doubts bubbling up inside of you and filling your chest with that uncomfortable tightness.

What if it's all in vain?

What if freeing the Sins was a mistake and the Ayabbi and their army will just rip them apart?

The feeling of responsibility makes your limbs as heavy as lead. Suddenly it seems like your whole existence has kicked something off that otherwise wouldn't have happened.
