"It won't hurt, right?", Gladys asks as Heishe inspects her hand. He shakes his head. "No, it doesn't hurt", he says. "Though the Seven might feel something."
His words roll through you like a shockwave and your chest tightens. "Will it hurt them?", you ask, unable to hold back, but Heishe doesn't lose his concentration. "No", he replies without looking up. "They will just be aware of this bond being dissolved."
You decide not to interrupt further as Heishe finishes his inspection with a satisfied nod and pulls back a bit. He looks at Gladys seriously.
"I apologize for forcing you to see this, Ma'am, but I have no choice", he says, and then his fingernails grow into the long, sharp claws you're already accustomed to.
The woman's eyes widen, but she doesn't seem freaked out as Heishe gently places his hand under hers and lifts it up a bit. "Hold it like this", he says quietly. Gladys nods, her gaze glued to her hand, and Heishe takes a deep breath.
When he speaks, his voice is such a commanding, deep rumble that it is almost impossible for you to make out singular words, but from what you can tell, this language is yet again different from what you've heard from him and the Seven so far. You decide to ask him about it later.

Show yourselves! As soon as the last syllable vanishes in the air, something starts to move on Gladys' palm. One after another, dark, unreadable letters appear under her skin, forming a circle. The seem to be deeply etched into her flesh, their reddish-black tone a warning to any and all to not interfere with their meaning, and yet Heishe's words bring them to the surface until they're crystalclear on the woman's skin.
She gasps quietly, not out of pain but out of disbelief over what she's seeing, and Heishe looks up to her. "Contracts run deep", he says quietly, his voice nothing more than a hum. "Especially ones that are carried over generations."
The circle of letters slowly turns on Gladys' palm, with Heishe's hand holding hers in place.
"Alright", he says quietly, looking the woman directly in the eyes. "I want to you repeat after me now. You will have to remember the name of whoever it was that formed the contract. Can you do that?"
Gladys nods and Heishe focusses back on the contract mark. "Here we go."
He speaks quieter this time, but clearly and slowly enough for the woman to follow along.
"Hereby I, Gladys, ancestress of..."
"Hereby I, Gladys, ancestress of Erunnis", the female echoes, adding the name of her ancestor. Heishe nods approvingly.
"Revoke the contract that was formed so long ago..."
"Revoke the contract that was formed so long ago...", Gladys repeats.
"And free myself and the Sins from the shackles placed upon them." Heishe looks at the woman, and you can tell the moment where the contract is being revoked is almost here. It's like a notion in the air, a growing tension in the universe that is impossible to miss.
"And free myself and the Sins from the shackles placed upon them."
Heishe nods.
"In my name and that of my ancestors, I sever this bond!"
Gladys repeats the last words, and while she does so, the turning letters on her palm begin to tremble and drift apart until the circle fractures. When she finishes the sentence, the mark finally explodes into a million of tiny pieces that vanish from her skin as if they had never been there.
