        𝑃𝐸𝐴𝑅𝐿 𝑊𝐴𝑆 𝑇𝑅𝑌𝐼𝑁𝐺 𝑇𝑂 get some blood off her knife that had dried on the blade. She knew that Kai was watching the news since the election results were coming in today. He was going to find out if his hero was running their country. Pearl could care less about the election, either way, she knew nothing in the world would change. This would still be a man's world, there would still be unjust death, there would still be darkness.

Pearl wasn't paying attention as to what was going on, not until she heard Kai mumble, "The revolution has begun."

Pearl put her knife down and turned to look at her husband, hoping to get some answers. Kai seemed completely still, until he very suddenly jumped up from the couch and let out a yell that was similar to a war cry. Pearl is not one to flinch, but she hadn't expected such a prideful reaction. Kay exclaimed happily, "Fuck you, world! U.S.A! U.S.A! U.S.A! Freedom!"

Kai laughed with disbelief, but still gleefully. Pearl was still incredibly confused by what was happening. She never cared for politics and wasn't watching the election, so she hadn't heard who won. Although, by the way that Kai was reacting, she had a strong feeling that Trump had prevailed.

"Dollface!" Kai exclaimed as he rushed over to her. Pearl was caught off guard when Kai picked her up in a hug and spun her around. Pearl let out a small laugh, but Kai was far too happy to even let her get a word out. His proudest moment had finally arrived.

Once Pearl was on the ground, Kai cupped her jaw and kissed her roughly. Pearl wasn't expecting it, so it took her a moment to kiss him back, but it was with a smile. When he pulled away, Pearl could still feel the lingering ghost of his touch. "Not that I'm not enjoying this, but what's going on?"

"Trump won, Dollface! Trump won!" Kai kissed her again, Pearl still a little taken aback from the last one. Kai started chanting their proud country's name as he rushed back to the living room. Pearl knew that politics were a huge deal in the Anderson family, so with this news, she knew that Winter would have been watching as well. Although, these results would not bring her joy, only despair.
