He wanted a buzzcut to move into his next movement, to become his newest form, one that eerily resembled Charles Manson as he moved through his next phase of life.

Kai had finished shaving his head, but he too was shaving his stubble. As he finished wiping the shaving cream off his face, he stood in front of his wife and asked, "What do you think?"

Pearl looked up at her husband, who smiled at her. She moved her hand up to run her fingers through his short hair, but she stopped herself, crossing her arms in front of her stomach. She was far too scared of her impulses. Instead, Pearl smiled. "You're beautiful."

Kai went to cup her jaw, but she looked away from him. Kai furrowed his eyebrows and worried, "What's wrong?"

Pearl shook her head, not wanting to speak of what was bothering her. Kai went to hold her hand, hoping to comfort her in some way, but she hopped down off the counter. She walked back into their bedroom, Kai following her. Pearl hated this feeling, this gnawing feeling like she couldn't take something back. Pearl had never regretted a thing she had done, nothing except killing her father.

"Pearl, what's going on?"

Pearl turned to Kai, no longer her back facing him. Kai was shocked to see tears running down her face, but he moved to her as soon as she confessed, "I killed my dad."

Kai brought her into a hug, wrapping his arms around her. Pearl put her arms around her waist, and rested her head on his chest as she cried. Kai kissed her head and rested his hand on the back of her neck, moving her hair out of the way so she could feel his warmth. Pearl admitted through cries, "I thought this was what I wanted, but...but now...Now, I can't go find him. Now, I can't hurt him. Now, I can't make him feel how I felt. He's gone, Kai...What kind of a person kills their own father?"

Pearl cried and Kai held her closer. He had never seen her this broken up. "Someone who rightfully hates their dad, which you do. He deserves death, he killed someone in front of you."

"Then I deserve death. I've never made anyone watch, but do you know how many people I've hurt? I never thought anything of it because I was working towards killing my dad, but what am I supposed to do now? I have no purpose."

"You do have a purpose. To help me with my movement." Kai pulled away from her and held her hands. Pearl averted her gaze, not wanting that to be her purpose. She had no filter, she wasn't lying to Kai for once in her life, but Pearl didn't want any part of Kai's movement. It was nothing but a con she was playing. "You are meant to rid the world of terrible people, Pearl. You're a hero because of it...but sometimes that job is hard because no one else is willing to do it."

"I kill people for a living, Kai...And I don't want to do it anymore, I don't want to be a monster." Truthfully, Pearl didn't want to kill people. She didn't want to be this horrible person, but she didn't know anything different.

Kai gently kissed her hand and reassured, "That's okay. Whatever makes you happy, I'm on board."

Pearl squeezed his hands as a silent thank you before she smiled up at him. Kai let go of her hands and wiped a tear from her face, then pushing her hair behind her ear so that he could see her better. "There is one thing I need you to do."

"Kai, I don't-" Pearl pushed his hand away, but Kai interjected before she could actually make up her mind, "Winter got a one way train ticker to Butte, Montana and didn't say anything about it."

Pearl's expression immediately dropped.

"Winter's the mole."
