Pearl never turns down jobs, no matter how obscene or horrific it was, this was the first time. Kai too wanted to spend time with the love of his life. It had been quite a while since Kai and Pearl had a day together that didn't have anything to do with the movement.
Kai and Pearl were walking hand in hand through a park. Pearl had no idea what they were doing or why they were out, but she trusted Kai, who consistently reassured that she would like the surprise he had for her.
Kai brought her to a bench, which Pearl sat down at, but Kai immediately tried to walk away, "I'll be right back."
Pearl still had a hold of his hand, so she pulled him back with furrowed eyebrows. "Wait, you're just leaving me here? I don't even know why we're here."

Every little movement someone makes in the day could be seen, but within the night, Pearl could hide. It's how she got away with murder.
It didn't take long for Kai to come back, but he had poutine in his hands. Pearl's eyebrows furrowed too as Kai handed her the poutine. He sat down next to her and lit a cigarette as she set the food down between them. Kai handed her the cigarette, which she took a hit of before asking, "What's happening?"
