𝑇𝐻𝐸 𝑀𝐸𝐷𝐼𝐴 𝐶𝐴𝑁 𝑀𝐴𝑁𝐼𝑃𝑈𝐿𝐴𝑇𝐸 anyone's image, words, and personality into something worthy of praise or worthy of hatred. It is quite the rare thing that someone being interviewed by the media could manipulate everything themselves.

There was absolutely nothing that the media could change about Kai to make people hate him, nothing he had said or done that was negative in any way. Kai was professional, fair, didn't see his wife as lesser than him, was supportive. Everything about Kai seemed completely perfect, which was why a local news station wanted to interview him.

A reporter and camera crew had asked to speak with Kai and his wife at their home. Seeing as how Pearl had over two dozen weapons and there was a room filled with dead bodies, they had met outside. Pearl and Kai were sitting on their outdoor couch with Kai's cane next to him. His leg was still hurt, but he would heal in no time.

"So, Mr. Anderson-" The reporter began, but Kai didn't want any hierarchy here. "Kai. Please."

"Kai. How are you feeling about your chances at city council? The results will be in today." The reporter pointed out, Kai letting out a breath, "I feel pretty good, but honestly, I know that my opponents could do great things for the city. Of course I'd like to win so I could buy my wife something nice as a celebration, as well as help the city improve and become a far safer environment for future and present generations to come. I believe that I could do great things, but my opponent has incredible potential as well."

"He's too humble. Kai would do amazing things for this city, he's being modest." Pearl stood up for her husband as she put her hand on his knee. Kai smiled as he looked next to him and at his wife. Having her there was mostly for appearances, so that the media could admire them even more, but that loving stare couldn't be faked.

"I must say, the public has fallen in love with your relationship. The two of you are such a kind, beautiful couple; it's inspiring. However, there are many people accusing the voters of voting for Kai as a result of their attraction to him or yourself, Mrs. Anderson. What do you have to say about that?" The reporter asked.

"I do wish some people would see him for what he's promising and what good he could do for this city, but if it gets him elected, who cares? Besides, look at him." Kai had never looked away from his wife, in a constant state of admiration. Pearl held his chin as a taunt, Kai then looking down bashfully as she continued, "I can't blame anyone for voting him because he's the definition of perfection."

"You're perfect." Kai responded, his gaze moving back up to her beautiful eyes. There were very random times throughout their relationship where Kai remembers how pure Pearl is. Her murders, her hatred, her distaste for the world around her overcrowds her beauty at times. Kai loves remembering that he married someone so precious.

"Wow, you two really are a great staple of modern American relationships. Truly, it's a beautiful thing." The reporter complimented as Kai's phone went off. He checked it since they were waiting for the election results. They were in at any moment -- this moment.

Kai read his message, his face lighting up almost instantly. "Oh my god, I'm twenty votes ahead. I won. I won!"

Pearl immediately brought him into a hug, their smiles never faltering. Kai only held her tighter, thankful that his movement was finally making the progress that he hoped so desperately for. Kai practically forgot that they were being filmed and there was another person in the room, all he knew was that he was happy, finally feeling successful and he could share that with Pearl. "I couldn't have done this without you."

Pearl was genuinely proud that he had won. She was prepared to manipulate the votes so that he could continue his march towards greatness, but he did so all on his own. Kai had far more potential than she had previously realized.

They had finally pulled apart when Pearl's phone rang and the reporter had asked, "Kai, could we get an exclusive on your win?"

"Yes, of course." Kai nodded his head as Pearl had lightly touched his shoulder, telling him she was going to step away for a moment. Pearl walked further down their driveway since she saw it was an unknown caller, but she had a feeling she knew who it was. Pearl looked back at her husband for a moment to make sure that he was busy talking about himself, which he was. Pearl answered the call. "Hello?"

"I made contact with Beverly Hope." Pearl knew who it was immediately -- her step-mother. Pearl despised her step-mother, she knew she only encouraged her mother's feminist delusions, which not only got her put in an asylum, but killed. Her step-mother was too a follower of hers, one of the most irritating.

"Good. You told her about mom?" Pearl asked as she put a hand on her hip.

"I did. Beverly's going to call you to meet me. Is the plan still in motion, Allmother?"

"...Yes."
