yn needed that page.she saved the newspaper with her first poem. it was carefully stored in her box, which was filled with trinkets and memories she cherished. but there weren't a thousand copies for her to grab and save, and she didn't want just a photo of the second poem.
she wanted that paper, she needed to feel it in her hands and keep it from collecting dust wherever they stored items removed from the bulletin board.
if it had been a normal notice board, she would have taken it off the moment she laid eyes on it, but this was the type of board with a glass cover that could be opened with keys.
yn wouldn't be herself if she let it stop her.
when she said that to aran, he assumed she was about to wrap her elbow in a sweatshirt and break the glass.
but she was against any form of violence.
and there was a much more peaceful way to get that page, so she decided to do it right away before her next class started.
"hi," she said, walking up to takahashi with a big smile. he was the best choice because he was the editor and oversaw the bulletin boards on campus, right?
"i don't know who it was," he sighed, not stopping as she approached him. she tried to match his tempo, but this guy had ridiculously long legs.
"oh, okay, that actually wasn't what i wanted to ask about, i wanted to know if i could have that page," she attempted to say as politely as possible.
"no," he quickly replied as they approached the building's exit. so that's why he was walking so fast, he was on his way home, and he was interrupting him.
"why?" she asked, and he abruptly stopped and looked at her with a tired expression on his face. she felt bad about bothering him now.
"it's out policy, we keep everything taken off the board in files, you know, if someone saw an ad, thought about it and when came back it's not hung up anymore."
"that's really smart," she said, nodding. from what she had noticed over the last two days, new announcements and other items were added every two days and removed after a week or month, depending on what it was.
"i know," he said, getting back on track. however, it wasn't enough information for yn.
"how long you keep the things in files for?"
"till the end of semester."
"oh." it was two months away. she couldn't wait that long. what happens if it gets lost? what if someone got it before her? "thanks for your help!" she yelled after him, but he probably didn't hear it.
if human ears could drop like animals' when sad, yn would be experiencing it right now. she desperately wanted that page. handle it with care and make sure that it is preserved properly.
at this hour, aran had a long break between classes, and yn had no choice but to whine about what had happened to him.
as she had expected, he was in a dining hall, eating late breakfast or early lunch depending on his mood. she dropped into the chair on his left and rested her head on his shoulder.
"i'll have to wait until the end of the semester to get that page," she said quietly, fighting the urge to pout. "hi kuroo," she said, noticing that aran wasn't eating alone this time, but with kuroo on the other side of him. he smiled and greeted her.
"why?" aran asked.
"some kind of policy," she sighed and ate a piece of fried tofu that aran had offered her with his chopsticks, most likely in an attempt to cheer her up. it was really good fried tofu.
he couldn't do much to help in that situation, the only thing that came to mind was to threaten takahashi to let yn get that piece of paper, but he wasn't sure it would work. yn would probably laugh at him for even suggesting it, because he was too gentle to scare anyone.
kuroo, on the other hand, felt like a lightbulb went on above his head.
"hey, maybe ask akaashi for help? he writes for the newspaper, he knows the editor well, maybe he can work something out with you?"
"you think he would?" yn asked, sitting up straight with a newfound hope on her face.
kuroo would love to pat himself on the back right now.
he knew he wasn't exactly doing what akaashi wanted, which was to just let him be, but how could he not use that opportunity to forge a connection between the two of them?
the more he thought about it, the more he realized what a great couple yn and akaashi could be. they just seemed to fit together.
"for sure, i'll give you his numer, just give him a call."
