"can we make one more stop?" akaashi asked as they walked out of the train station.
"are you thinking what i am thinking?" yn asked, immediately excited about the possibility of going to the store to get some butter cookies and marshmallows for her hot cocoa, which had been her daily snack for the past few days, and akaashi was well aware of this, as well as the fact that they were out of both of those things in her apartment.
"no, but i promise it's just as good as what you're thinking," he said with a nervous smile.
"what is it then?"
"you'll see."
"tell me, please," she grumbled, pulling on his hand."i won't." he couldn't budge, he often gave in too easily when yn asked him to reveal something, but now he was determined to keep it a surprise.
"'kaashi," she whined. "keiji, baby, please."
akaashi opened his mouth, almost ready to spill the beans, but he shook his head, trying to be tough, causing yn to groan. if he was going to give up, he would have already.
she let him lead her, almost with closed eyes, because she was exhausted from the day trip to osaka, the five hours on train, and the full day of walking with atsumu."you need me to carry you?" akaashi chuckled, glancing at her sleepy face.
"i can't even agree as a joke, because you would," she said, smiling softly.
after a a few minutes of slow walk, they finally reached the place akaashi wanted to take her to. she knitted her brows and looked at him with curiosity. that was definitely surprising, because she never expected akaashi to want to go to their bar after a long day of traveling. sure, it was a great place, but after a long day, she knew all he wanted to do was go home and sleep. it wasn't like akaashi.before she could ask one of the many questions that were running through her mind, akaashi led her inside and straight to the bar, where he pulled out a stool for her and sat next to her.
"one cosmo and a beer, please," he told the bartender, who seemed to know their order even before they asked for it.
"getting drunk wasn't on my to-do list today," yn said before quietly yawning.
"we're not getting drunk today," he chuckled, shaking his head gently. he reached for her hand beneath the bar and placed them together on his lap. "it's a symbolical drink."
"symbolical of what?" she asked, gripping his hand tighter."when we first met, we sat right here in those spots. i was waiting for bokuto, and you walked in, and you looked so beautiful, and then you went up on stage, and i still have a melody from your song in my head, and-" he laughed nervously, pushing his glasses up and waiting to speak for a moment when the bartender handed them drinks. "i couldn't get you out of my mind after that moment, and i kept thinking that if that guy hadn't interrupted our conversation or if bokuto hadn't arrived, we could have been together much sooner. that's why i started writing poetry about you, it was too much to keep inside, and i just-"
he looked at her, just like she loved. she felt like she was everything he ever wanted, and with those words and all of his actions, she knew it was true.
"what i'm trying to say is-"
"i love you," she said suddenly, interrupting his words with a confession that came as no surprise. it felt like saying something unspoken, but they were already aware of it.for the first time, yn didn't feel obliged to immediately follow up with something like 'you don't have to say it back'. she always confessed too soon and gave too much, she was sure that no one felt it back, but with akaashi... she didn't have to say anything else, she hoped that in her eyes, he could see that he was everything she'd ever dreamed of too, and-
"i love you, too."
-she never had to wait to be loved by him.𐙚˙⋆.🧸•₊✧⋆˚✒️。⋆ᡣ𐭩
