yn was surprised when she woke up on her back. she never slept straight on her back, she always slept on her belly or on her side.
but now she was lying on her back, with a body draped over her. akaashi was not muscular, but, god, he was heavy, most likely due to his height. when yn realized how much dead weight she was carrying, she fought a groan that threatened to escape her throat. he wasn't dead, but he was breathing suspiciously slowly, so she had her worries.as she got used to the weight on her after waking up, it got more pleasant to lie under akaashi. if someone asked her how she expects him to sleep, she wouldn't say that he sleeps with his head on someone's chest and his hands under their back. she assumed he preferred casual spooning or something similar. but this... this was perfect.
someone was smart enough to close the blinds last night, so the only thing that lit up the room was a ray of sunlight falling down on the middle of the bed, right through akaashi's back.yn raised her hand and placed it on akaashi's hair. there's nothing better than being woken up with gentle petting, right?
only that akaashi wasn't asleep anymore. he just didn't want to move. this was the best night of sleep he'd ever had, and he was about to have the best morning, so when he saw that yn was still sleeping, he just laid back on her chest and waited with closed eyes, hoping for a little more rest. he didn't fall asleep, but simply listening to yn's heartbeat and feeling her soft breaths on top of his head was the most relaxing thing he'd ever experienced.still, yn was unaware of this, so she tried to be as subtle as possible, brushing her fingers through his hair and occasionally rubbing over the nape of his neck, which was visible due to the shirt yn had given him to sleep in. she had a large collection of oversize men's shirts that she bought to sleep in or wear around the house, so it wasn't a problem to share one, though the one she chose, the largest, so it would be the most comfortable for him to sleep in, was also the most worn out, so the neck was loose.
"i like that," akaashi mumbled, blowing hot breath into her skin through her shirt."jesus– i thought you're asleep," yn huffed, taking away her hand when she heard his voice.
"i was, before," he chuckled, reaching for her hand to return it to his hair, but it was nowhere to be found. akaashi pulled himself up on his elbows on either side of yn to look at her judgingly and squint slightly, because the sun moved enough to shine on his face in that position.yn wished she could remember how he looked in that moment forever. how pretty his face was lightened by the ray, how his skin was almost glowing, how the slope of his nose cast a shadow on the other side of his face, and how his lips were glistening in the sun, he had to lick them just now.
"did i wake you up?" she asked, her arm raised and away.
"no, i woke up before you, it was just too nice to move."that answer was acceptable, so she returned her hand to his hair, and akaashi lowered himself back onto her chest, relieved that he no longer needed to pretend he hadn't noticed her staring at him seconds before to avoid embarrassing her by bringing it up. he let himself smile and he probably blushed a little when he thought back about how she was almost drinking how his face looked.
"i want to take you out on a date," he said, circling her sides with his fingertips. he could swear her heart began beating faster at the sound of his words."well, you should've taken me out on a date first, then make out with me," she said playfully.
akaashi's face was turned away from her; she could only see the top of his head, but he tried to hide even more."i know," he chuckled. "so you don't want to go out on a date?"
"no! of course i want, and i know we wanted to just go with the flow with everything, but i was afraid you'd never ask," she said, becoming quieter with each word, because, to be honest, she felt a little embarrassed to admit it. she could've easily talk about this with akaashi, but old habits die hard, and she was afraid that asking how long they would wait to make a move would be too pushy, especially since she was the one who told him to just see how things will go in their natural tempo.
"i– i was waiting for a little hotter weather," he said, raising his elbows again to look at yn. "i haven't really thought about anything else since you decided to give me a chance. i plan things a lot, and i just wanted to make sure i had everything organized before asking you. you should have told me it made you nervous."
he had this idea in his head for much longer than he realized. it was just his kind of perfect date, and he was looking for the right person for it. now that he had it, he had to plan everything to match yn's personality, tastes, and preferences.
"aren't you the sweetest thing," she cooed, pulling him by the cheeks for a kiss on the lips, but before they met, she hid her lips under a hand. "i have a morning breath," she said, terrified that she could've kissed akaashi with it.
"i couldn't care less," he said, removing her hand by the wrist.𐙚˙⋆.🧸•₊✧⋆˚✒️。⋆ᡣ𐭩
