bokuto reached for his phone when he received a notification from a text message.
yn:]
i have some exciting newshe slowly stopped walking, causing kuroo to do the same. they were going together to the dining hall. kuroo had already finished classes, but he was hungry, and since bokuto wanted to eat something before his two-hour practice, they decided to spend some time together.
"what?" he asked bokuto, seeing him type something with the speed of light.
bokuto
WHAT NEWS
HELLO
??
????
YN
what news do you have
hello
what news
??
yn??
hello??
hello??
what newsbokuto nearly let out a whine. he hated it when others did that to him. how could they pique his interest and just seconds later abandon him?
"you're going to blow up my phone, stop texting me," yn said, surprisingly appearing next to them.
"jesus christ," kuroo gasped, placing his hand on his heart. he was so focused on bokuto typing furiously that he didn't notice yn approaching them and waving to get their attention. bokuto did not notice either.
"what news?" he asked right away, putting both hands on yn's shoulders to shake the information out of her.
"stop," she laughed as she slapped bokuto's hands away from her. "i was home for the weekend and i talked with atsumu, and we both thought it would be cool for him to come to tokyo next weekend-"
"can we meet?" bokuto asked, his hands nearly itching to shake yn again. she was fun to shake.
"yeah! that is where i am going with this topic! i'm dying to introduce you two."
yn loved the idea of finally introducing atsumu to her university friends after three years. he always had an excuse for not being able to come to tokyo or that when he was there, he chose to spend time with yn and aran. however, now that nokuto has been scouted by black jackals, yn could introduce bokuto and kuroo to him under the guise of simply introducing bokuto and atsumu to each other because they will be on the same team.
"that's so cool," bokuto exclaimed.
"right? i was thinking about meeting up at the bar."
"can we take akaashi?" kuroo asked. he tried to be sneaky about it, but he sounded very eager.
yn didn't give it much thought, she simply assumed that kuroo was as excited as she was about meeting atsumu.
"obviously, when i say 'you', i mean all of you, akaashi and kenma included."
she wasn't particularly close to kenma, but she knew he'd been kuroo's best friend for a long time and was funny, so why not? she wasn't really close to akaashi, but she definetly considered him a friend, and he and bokuto were a package deal, and he was such a pleasure to be around, how could she not want him there? she hoped he'd come so they could spend some time together. maybe she could buy him a drink for helping her with those poems.
"that's awesome, i'll talk to kenma, but you should give akaashi a call," kuroo said, wrapping an arm around bokuto's elbow. he didn't bat an eyelid at that gesture. "since, you know, you already have his number," he chuckled, slowly trying to leave. "we're really hungry, but please text us when you've decided on the hour and day, okay? bye!" he said quickly, turning around and dragging bokuto with him, before yn could wonder why he couldn't be the one to call akaashi.
god, being a matchmaker was exhausting.
"i didn't know you were that hungry," bokuto chuckled, and kuroo simply smiled at him.
yn stood in the same spot, her head slightly tilted to one side. 'that was weird,' she thought to herself, but she just shrugged her shoulders and turned around to go to her next class.
