well, yn overestimated her patience, and not in the way that everyone expected. she didn't expect it herself to feel this way.

every relationship she was in had only two outcomes. someone wanted her body, and she either gave in after one date in the hopes of keeping them interested, or she turned down the offer to spend the night, and even if they said it was fine, the dating was over.

with akaashi, it was completely different because she knew he wanted her, and yet he was the most respectful guy she'd ever met (aside from her friends). it was truly a healing experience. it also made her feel extremely hot whenever their gazes crossed.

it was probably what kept her mood up, despite the fact that it was the evening after graduation, which meant that bokuto and aran were no longer students and would be moving on with their lives soon.

the two soon-to-be professional volleyball players invited their closest friends, yn, kuroo, kenma, and akaashi, to their favorite bar to spend their last evening together, because who knows when they'll get to meet again.

yn wanted to focus on aran and bokuto, but she couldn't because her gaze was constantly drawn to akaashi. it was the first time she had seen him in a button-up shirt, looking so... casual. she saw him casual, but she had no idea he could look casual in a button up because he always wore a vest or sweater over it and looked so put together. now, it wasn't even buttoned all the way up anymore, two buttons were left open, and after an hour of sitting in the bar, he rolled up his sleeves.

'god, i act like a victorian man after seeing an ankle,' she reflected, taking a big gulp of her drink.

akaashi's cheeks were flushed. three beers did the job, and he was much more open than usual. it was almost addictive to look at him.

"would you two kiss to make it believable that you were together, if yn asked?" he chuckled and tipped his beer bottle towards aran and bokuto. aran scoffed, and bokuto looked at kuroo with squinted eyes.

"why are you looking at me?"

"we hadn't talked about this, we just agreed to pretend in front of yn," bokuto shrugged.

yn would find this conversation amusing, because how far were they willing to go to make her believe? but now she couldn't think about anything else because akaashi had just started talking about kissing, and that was all she wanted to do to him.

"i wouldn't kiss you, you're taken," aran said.

"i wouldn't mind," kuroo said, giving aran a smug smile before smiling even more proudly as aran turned away, flustered.

"i don't kiss taken people," he argued.

"actually," yn interrupted the conversation before kuroo could say anything else. "first year of high school, you kissed shin's girlfriend," she said innocently.
