Sixteen-year-old Damian dreams of living an adventure. He feels trapped in his small hometown and wishes to see what lies beyond it. One cold night he goes to the park and accidentally bumps into the devil, and not only that, but somehow he kills hi...
He was hopeless. He couldn't even punch a punching bag. I pinched the bridge of my nose for probably the fourth time in that twenty minutes. I was sure it was red now.
I inhaled indignantly then turned to Damian who swung a punch at the bag but he tripped and fell being only able to scratch the bag gently.
"Have you ever fought before?" I asked not bothering to help him up. From him pouting I could tell that was what he expected I would do. "No. Not really." He replied.
I stared at him in disbelief then sighed heavily. "Fine. I will help you because you're the boss and we can't have you seen as the waste of oxygen that you are." I mumbled standing behind him. "What did you –"
"You have to spread your legs a little bit." I said cutting him off then spread his legs by kicking mine against his. I looked up to his upper body and held his chest bringing him up to be a little straighter.
I felt him tensing up while I was moving his limbs, but I didn't pay much attention to it and turned to his right wrist and bent it a bit. "Try punching with your first two knuckles and relax your shoulders." I moved to fix his shoulders then went to hold the punching bag so he could hit it that time. I turned to him but he quickly looked away from me and straight to the punching bag. "So, do I just punch it now?" He asked.
I frowned. "No, no, no. Of course not. You have to wait for its consent first. Ask if it wants to get punched now." I deadpanned. Damian sighed softly while closing his eyes then slowly turned to me after opening them. "Chase, maybe if we take a –"
"No." I firmly said cutting him off. "If you weren't stupid and 'saved' yourself that night you wouldn't be here Damian, but unfortunately, you are. Being the leader takes hard work and I won't tolerate any sloppiness. Now punch the damn bag."
Damian narrowed his eyes at me then punched the bag. Hard. I was taken aback as he almost knocked me down with it. I wasn't standing firmly because I didn't think he would actually punch that hard.
It was in that moment did I realize that he was lying to me that whole time. I turned to him and he smirked. "You're right. Maybe all I needed was motivation." He said taking off his boxing gloves. I narrowed my eyes. "You little piece of –"
"Ah. It's a relief that I caught you both here." The third member of the council said walking inside the training room by himself. "Have you already found the way to fix this?" Damian asked turning to him. I turned to him as well expecting an answer, but he hesitated and shook his head making my heart drop.
"Unfortunately, not. I only came here to give you your key." He explained materializing a long black key that transformed to be a black skull bracelet.

"This looks really cool to be a key to hell." Damian said examining the bracelet in awe then he wore it around his left wrist. "Just be careful with it. Don't ever take it off or else the angels will steal it and cause massive destruction around the world. They want to eliminate evil and create a world of pure goodness." The third member of the council explained.
I shook my head turning to him. "You're really going to bestow such a heavy burden on a human? A teenager to make it worse?" I asked. "It's the only option we have." The third member of the council replied. "Were you two busy on training?"
Damian and I replied simultaneously. "Yes." I had said. "No." He had said.
The third member of the council darted his eyes from him to me looking unsure who to believe. "Uh... perhaps I should show you the rules around here first before you get physical." He proposed holding Damian's shoulder and led him away.
I glared at him while he looked so relieved to be taken away from me. In the midst of silence my brain went to me touching his body. I sighed softly shaking my head trying to get rid of the dirty thoughts I had with that human. He stole my title, my legacy, and my life. If anything, I want him dead.
