“You can put me down, I can walk on my own!” Meira pouted, arms around Ryat's neck as he sauntered through the mansion with her firmly in his arms. She didn't care much about the serious expression he wore as she knew it was a façade–but still, she felt unsettled with his look. It was as if he was irritated and angry at the same time. “What's wrong with you? Talk to me, Ryat.”

“Nothin'. I'm cool,” he looked down at her with a raised eyebrow. “What made you think I'm upset?”

“Um...” Meira studded his expression, he said he was cool but he looked murderous. “Nevermind.”

“Carnage!” Venom called from the couch he was lounging on with his phone turned sideways in his hand. He looked enthusiastic to see him. “Dude, you're finally home!”

Ryat set Meira down on her feet then put an arm around her then pulled her to his chest in a possessive way. He noticed Meira looking up at him with a pout but ignored her. “Venom. What's the problem? Did something happen?”

“Wait,” he stood up and held one finger up. “Korpse! Bandit! Y'all, Ryat's here!”

The two came sliding across the floor on the living room then stopping to do a dance. Halfway through they started laughing and stopped. “Ryat! Dude, come look at what we did for you,” Korpse said, beckoning him to follow them into the kitchen. “You're gonna love this surprise, man.”

Carnage was skeptical at first. He knew his friends were sh*theads that always pranked each other so he wasn't sure whether to go or not. After a few seconds of consideration Ryat followed them to the kitchen, Meira still in his arms unable to pry his strong, muscular arm off her neck.

Venom, Korpse and Bandit spoke in hushed whispers at the door. They looked at each other and nodded, their eyed then made their way to Ryat and his stepsister–they began smirking and opened the white doors with golden handles.

“Surprise!” they chorused, beaming excitedly.

“What the in the Hell...” Ryat's brows scrunched deeply upon seeing what was prepared. Basically, it was a party–the kitchen was decorated with balloons, ribbons, and group pictures they took. A five-layer cake with a miniature Ryat on top sitting on a motorcycle with his fingers pointed like guns under his chin. Further covering the island was plates filled with candy, snacks, pizza, drinks etc.

“What is this?” he asked, breaking into smiles.

“We decided we weren't gonna go to any party, we're gonna stay here and celebrate your last days with you,” Venom explained and walked to the two with a proud swagger. “So, come on. This is all for you. Bandit baked the cake while we decorated, just like old times.”

Ryat was touched by the thoughtfulness of his friends. He let Meira go and hugged Venom, trying his absolute hardest not to cry. Korpse and Bandit joined the hug, patting Ryat on his back.

“Yo, guys,” he soon separated and sniffed, tears filling his eyes. “Thank you. This...this meane a lot to me. I can't believe you guys would do this?”

“What are friends for, man?” Korpse pulled on his ear. “C'mon y'all let's get this party started!”

It was nighttime, the sun and its wicked rays had fallen to let the moon and peaceful darkness rise. The boys played Ryat's favourite songs and brought up embarrassing memories about him that made him chase them around the place.

“Remembering when Ryat was taking a picture and said he was colorblind because all the pics he took were black and white?” Venom was choking on laughter. “He said he 'wss colorblind to phones' but the idiot left the black and white filter on and didn't know how to take it off!” he fell off the stool, holding his stomach as he laughed.
