A/N: Ohhh I do love Roger sm! I bet he would've been the best Dad if he had the chance</3!
Anyway, uhh yeah, idk I went a bit crazy with this one so, enjoy (?)
The sun had barely crested the horizon when you were roused from sleep by the familiar cacophony of laughter and clanging pots from the galley. On the Oro Jackson, mornings started early and with gusto, a reflection of the spirit of the crew itself.
You shuffled out of your hammock, rubbing the sleep from your eyes, and pulled on your boots, the ones patched up more times than you could count. Today was just another day sailing the Grand Line, yet with this crew, no day was ever truly ordinary.
As you made your way up to the deck, the salty sea breeze hit your face, invigorating you instantly. Shanks and Buggy were already up to their usual antics, their laughter echoing over the sound of the waves.
Despite their fooling around, the crew operated like a well oiled machine, each member attending to their duties with a practiced ease that came from years of sailing under the same flag.
You took your place beside Rayleigh, who offered you a nod and a smile as he slid over, making room for you on the bench at the long wooden table set up in the galley for breakfast. Roger's first mate had a way of making you feel like you were exactly where you belonged.
"Morning, kid" he greeted, handing you a chunk of bread from the basket in the middle of the table. "Morning" you replied, taking the bread and glancing around at the rest of the crew.
They were a varied bunch, each with stories etched into the lines of their faces or the scars on their arms, but one thing unified them all, the respect and almost reverence they held for the man at the head of the table.
Gol D. Roger, was in his usual spot, his booming laugh overshadowing even the squawks of seagulls overhead. As the crew settled down, plates loaded with whatever the cook had managed to throw together, Roger stood up, his presence commanding immediate silence.
"Today, the log pose points to new adventures!" Roger declared, his voice filled with excitement. He gestured grandly toward the navigational instrument that was tied securely to the navigator's wrist. "We're headed to an island rumoured to be as wild as it is beautiful, a place where the trees are said to touch the skies and the rivers sparkle like diamonds in the sun!"
The crew erupted into cheers, the thrill of the unknown fuelling their enthusiasm. You couldn't help but smile, caught up in the energy, in the sense of unity that pervaded even the simplest moments aboard the ship.
As breakfast continued, you listened to the tales spun by your shipmates, tales of past exploits and dreams of treasure yet to be found. Roger's voice weaved through it all, a steady presence that felt as much a part of the ship as the wood beneath your feet.
