Hecate fell onto her back in the field, breathing heavily. She had given it her all and was beyond tired, but she was satisfied with the results.
Beside her Vanessa had also landed in the grass along with Lyall. While Vanessa wasn't gasping for breath, Lyall was.
"It's so weird hearing you gasp like that dog over there." Vanessa teased.
"You... You shut your mouth... Fang Face." Lyall retorted with a growl. "I might be tired now, but if I take off this ring I'll be ready to rip your face off."
"It'd be an improvement." Vanessa retorted. This got both Hecate and Lyall to pause before rolling so they could look at their vampiric companion who was grinning up at Lyall with an absolutely shit eating grin. "Aweh, are you worried about my feewings?"
Lyall's eyes narrowed and she grabbed the ring on her finger before pulling it off. Almost immediately her arm started to grow brown fur and her face started to grow out.
"I think you might have overdone it Ness." Hecate muttered.
"Yeah... But I probably deserve it anyway." Vanessa shrugged.
"LYALL!" Someone called from across the field. At the sound of the voice Lyall's fur receded instantly and her face returned to normal. A bright smile spread across her face as she pushed her upper body off the ground only to be tackled by another figure, where the two of them rolled across the ground with laughter.
"Gross. Physical affection." Vanessa muttered as she rolled onto her stomach to look over at the two of them.
"Don't you have a girlfriend?" Hecate raised a curious eyebrow.
"Absolutely. I'm starting to wonder if this school was secretly a match making tactic for lesbians." Vanessa shrugged.
"Honestly, I wouldn't put it past my brother." Hecate agreed before looking over at the two brown haired women who were sprawled out on the grass.
"What are you doing in the human world? I thought you were off galivanting with your family?" Lyall asked as they both picked themselves up.
Hecate paused a moment before realizing this other person was not Glenda, and instead looked like she could have been Lyall's twin. They had different facial shapes and structures, but they had the exact same eyes with the other woman's hair being a little longer and tied into a braid.
"I'm not allowed to take some time to visit my favorite sister?" The woman retorted.
"Uh, Lyall. Intro-fucking-ductions please." Vanessa scoffed, looking genuinely offended. "Your family is royalty aren't they?"
Lyall leaned forward with another growl. "I'm royalty you idiot!"
"You're like fake royalty." Vanessa shrugged. "Real royalty wouldn't be out here playing football with the dirty peasants."
The other woman laughed, her smile never faltering. "To be honest I'd love to play soccer with you guys. I don't know how good I'd be though."
"We'd love to have you-"
"Absolutely not." Lyall interrupted, looking at the other woman nervously. "You'd kill someone."
"Isn't that what the seals are for?" Vanessa rolled her eyes.
"For sure, but I don't know if they'd work on her. Kinda spent a few thousand years honing her strength and magic." Lyall admitted.
"I mean, that's not entirely true." The woman shrugged. "I spent a lot of time with my family too."
"We still haven't gotten your name yet sooo..." Vanessa motioned for her to continue.
"Alison. Alison Nightshade-Dawn."
