"Are you okay?" Calypso asked once they had gotten back to her dorm. Hecate almost immediately walked towards Calypso's door which had been left open. Calypso followed nervously, only to smile softly as the hybrid face planted the bed, pulling one of the pillows into a tight hug against her chest.
"Katy?" Calypso called as she stood next to the bed.
"I genuinely thought she was going to kill me." Hecate answered.
"Alison?"
"Yeah... She... Her mother-in-law turned me, and I don't even remember it. Like... I was terrified she didn't know and was going to kill me because maybe I stole it from her family or something."
"Well, on the bright side she didn't kill you, so that's a good thing." Calypso made her way over to the bed where she sat down beside Hecate and gently rubbed her shoulder. "I don't know what I would have done if she tried to take you from me."
"I don't know either." Hecate confessed. "It would have been an all out brawl. Not to mention Aviri was there!" The hybrid squeezed the pillow tighter at the realization. "She could have torn me limb from limb!"
"I don't think you were even close to death really. I doubt either of them would have done a thing while your mom was there." Calypso noted. "We're home, we're safe, and I think that's really all that matters okay? Neither one of them is going to risk picking a fight with your family. Not to mention Desdemona."
Hecate seemed to relax a bit, but the idea still seemed to haunt her. The idea that there was a very real chance that she came very close to death terrified her more than she would have liked to admit.
"Do you... Do you want to go play games?" Calypso offered.
Hecate was quiet for a few moments before she rolled so she was looking up at Calypso. "Do you think I want to play games or are you just asking because you want to play?"
"How dare you accuse me of not thinking about your feelings!" Calypso scoffed."I'm obviously hoping it'll be a good distraction! You told me you like to play games to get away from reality!"
Hecate finally managed a small smile and Calypso's heart fluttered a bit, thankful that she was able to coax one out. "That's true. Maybe a couple games would be nice."
"You can pick, and watch me struggle with it."
Hecate sat up but grabbed Calypso around the waist when she went to stand before pulling her back into her lap. The hybrid nuzzled into Calypso's shoulder and neck, breathing in their scent deeply before just holding her for a few moments.
"Katy? Are you okay?"
"Can we just... stay like this for a bit?"
"Do you want me to talk?"
"About what?"
"Anything. Just as a distraction. I can tell you some dumb stories or something."
"Can you sing?"
Calypso sighed a bit.
"I thought you said it was a thing between lovers? Is it not okay for me to keep asking you?"
"It's okay for you to ask Katy." Calypso assured her, reaching up and placing her hands over the arms that were holding onto her. "I just want to make sure you're not trying to use my voice as a crutch to make you feel better."
"As a crutch? I don't think I'm... I mean, I don't really know if I am. I don't think I am." Hecate confessed. "I just don't like feeling so... scared."
"It's okay to be scared. There's nothing wrong with it."
"I feel like I do a lot of being scared. I'm scared of those roller coasters, I'm scared about what my parents are going to do if I find them. I'm scared that the Nightshades are going to start a fight with my family trying to kill me..."
