"So what do you think so far?" Nyx asked Calypso as she leaned towards her. They were now all sitting at the dining table and chatting, as Eros and Eris had finally arrived.
"I think it's both intimidating, and oddly relaxing." Calypso confessed.
"I much prefer smaller houses than these big old mansions, but they work out well for family get-togethers like this." Nyx confessed with a smile. "Otherwise they're too empty."
"I agree." Calypso nodded before turning her head back towards the others to try and pay attention to the conversation. To her left, Hecate was sitting beside her with a wine glass full of blood where she was back and forthing with Reza and Nike on the other side of the table.
"I am not playing any kind of games against either of you." Hecate narrowed her eyes.
"You literally play soccer!" Reza scoffed. "If anything you would have the advantage over both of us."
"Against you yeah. But against Nike? The bottom of my cleats would probably fall off mid run." Hecate grumbled.
"Pfft, it wouldn't be that bad." Reza scoffed.
"No, it could definitely be that bad." Nike agreed with a chuckle.
"I'm not playing against Nike in anything." Hecate grumbled.
"Playing any kind of a sport with Nike is like asking to race Calypso in water." Eris chuckled. "It's just plain stupid."
"Just 'cuz they take first place doesn't mean you can't play for second." Reza retorted.
"No one wants to play for second place." Hecate scoffed. "I'm not playing soccer with the two of you. You cheat."
"I can't help it." Nike admitted with a laugh.
"It's still cheating."
"I mean, yeah. But I still can't help it."
"Why don't you play a non competitive game?" Nyx offered. "Like just kicking a ball back and forth?"
"Where's the fun in that?" Reza asked.
"That's boring." Hecate agreed.
"So if you can't play a game, then you can't play a game, dipshits." Eris scoffed.
"Are you a fan of sports?" Nyx asked, leaning towards Calypso once again.
Calypso chuckled nervously. "I don't do well on human legs, so I'm not a fan of playing. But I do enjoy watching. Though I do swim competitively."
Nyx smiled warmly. "I can imagine. I'm not a very good swimmer myself."
"I can teach you?" Calypso offered before pausing. "Is that weird?"
The Goddess laughed. "No. It's not weird. I mean, given the context I guess it can be, but no. I don't think it's weird. But let me correct myself, I'm a terrible swimmer because I'm afraid of water."
"Oh. I'm sorry. I just- Well... I understand that people can be afraid of the things I think are normal. I know that there are a lot of people who are scared of the oceans but I don't hear about many that are scared of water."
"I don't mind baths obviously." Nyx continued. "I am just terrified to be submerged."
"She freezes up." Devin explained, leaning forward so she could see past Nyx to look at Calypso. "Like, her body refuses to move as soon as her head goes under. She's okay for a few seconds if she's expecting it, but after a short time she just stops. It's kinda freaky."
