"You know, I don't have vampiric strength right?" Calypso grumbled, pulling Hecate's arm over her shoulder and pulling her up.

"I can't help it, I'm tired." Hecate muttered.

"I'll leave you on the floor."

"Okay, okay." Hecate sighed, pulling herself upright but still leaving her arm around Calypso's shoulders. "Bed?"

"That's the plan." Calypso rolled her eyes. "Let's go."

"I was hoping I could stay awake and have sex." Hecate muttered getting Calypso to laugh as she brought the hybrid over to the bed and deposited her there.

"So bold when you're barely conscious."

"I'm very brave." Hecate answered, watching through tired eyes as Calypso made her way around the bed and to the other side where she crawled under the covers. She turned to face Hecate who had pulled the overs up to her own chin where she was looking at the mermaid with a warm smile. Her white eyes staring straight back into her own.

"What?" Calypso asked.

"Would you sing for me?"

"You want to be charmed?"

Hecate chuckled softly. "I'm already charmed."

"Smooth." Calypso rolled her eyes. "What's the reason though?"

"I don't want you to use a spell or anything. I just... I want to hear your song again. Do you have to use magic?"

"No." Calypso answered. "Any requests?"

"For a song?"

"Yeah. Any requests?"

"You'll sing for me just because I asked? I thought it was like... an important thing? Maybe cultural?"

"It is."

"So it's okay for you to sing for me anyway?"

Calypso reached a hand forward and gently cupped Hecate's cheek lightly, brushing her thumb under the hybrid's eye with a gentle smile. The mermaid's eyes were a deep pink color and almost seemed to swirl with magic.

"Its... It's a little... the circumstance is unique I guess..."

"Can you explain it?" Hecate asked, tilting her head into the mermaid's palm and closing her eyes for a few seconds before looking back into her eyes.

"You helped me get it back in the first place. There's a piece of me that feels as though it's just as much yours as mine."

Hecate's brow furrowed in confusion. "I didn't do it because I wanted ownership of it. I helped you because you deserved it back."

Calypso chuckled. "I know it's not yours per say. I just meant that if you want to hear me sing sometimes then there shouldn't be a reason as to why you can't."

"Explain to me the cultural significance of it."

"Of me singing to you?"

"Yes. You agreed that it was cultural, but you didn't really explain how other than it being a show of power. I know your true forms are supposed to be reserved for close family, friends or relationships, but what about your voice?"

"I guess it depends on the merfolk." Calypso shrugged. "Its not as though we don't want other races to hear our voices. Our people see it... well... sort of like a succubus I guess. The more people we have charmed the more powerful we're seen as. This is not wildly practiced anymore of course, but its still part of the culture."

"That's easy enough to figure out. I meant more what it means to you to sing for someone because they asked."

"Normally it's considered taboo. Like asking someone to charm a person for them."
