Hecate opened her eyes to the dimly lit room she was in. She could hear the sound of water running in the filter system for the tank she was currently sleeping above and found herself almost lulled back to sleep from it.
She yawned before squeezing the body she was hugging tightly getting them to mumble softly like they were being drawn from their own slumber.
"How do you always wake up first?" Calypso muttered.
"I probably fall asleep first." Hecate confessed. "But shush. We're not getting up."
"I thought you have a soccer game today?"
"No. I don't-" Hecate was interrupted as her phone alarm went off, telling her that she did indeed have a game that day. The vampire groaned in annoyance before rolling away from Calypso, untangling their bodies and grabbing the phone off her nightstand to shut it off.
"What time is your game?" Calypso asked, now rolled onto her side facing Hecate as she supported her head on her arm and smiled softly. The blankets were up to her waist showing off her naked upper body and revealing all her beautiful scales and designs. Hecate also noticed that she had blue, glowing, tiger stripes across her body from the bioluminescence matching the lighter colored tiger stripes of her scales. At the same time all her frills were also glowing, including the lines that outlined her cheekbones and chin. The tips of all her frills were glowing, as was the barb at the top of the main frill on the top of her head.
Hecate had thought the barb was more of an angler fish bulb, but now that it was fully glowing it was actually part of the point on the fin itself, giving it more of a barb appearance.
Hecate blinked at the sight of her, quickly forgetting the question she was just asked as she stared. After a few awkward moments Calypso cleared her throat getting Hecate to blink back into reality. "Sorry, what?"
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I just... You talked about how you thought of yourself as a monster, but when you glow like this you're actually really beautiful... Like... I was speechless for a second there." Hecate confessed.
"Oh... Well thank you... That wasn't what I thought you'd say but... But I'm glad you did. Thank you." Calypso smiled nervously, her cheeks darkening a bit as her other hand not holding up her head moved to almost cover her chest like she didn't want to be looked at.
Hecate rolled back over with a smile and moved her hands to cup Calypso's face so she could pull her in for a kiss which got the mermaid to blink in confusion before returning a soft smile. "What was that for?"
"I wanted to." Hecate answered. "I meant what I said. You are beautiful."
"Cut it out, or I will bite you."
"What?"
"You're flustering me. Stop."
"Beautiful and adorable. Interesting combination." Hecate grinned.
Calypso reached up and pinched Hecate's cheeks getting her to whine in pain as the clawed fingers pinched at her skin before finally releasing her. "What time is your game?"
"Well that was my first alarm telling me to get up and get ready. But I basically have about two hours before I have to be heading towards the locker room to get situated with my team." Hecate shrugged.
"Is it a home game?"
"Yes. We'll be playing on our own field." Hecate nodded.
"Good. I won't have to go very far to watch."
Hecate chuckled. "You don't have to go to every one of my games. I know I'm probably not going to go to all of your swim meets. Only the important ones."
