"That's sweet of her. But also kinda terrifying."

"What do you mean? How so?"

"She either has enough rooms that new people can just claim a room forever, or she only invites her family."

"She has enough rooms for everyone with room to spare, but I just meant that she leaves the rooms for us. Not everyone that goes into her manor." Hecate chuckled. "You're going to love it there, but it will for sure probably be overwhelming at first."

"How so?"

"Its a really, fuck off, big mansion in the middle of the woods." Hecate chuckled. "But she's lived on that land since they left Greece."

"That's pretty impressive. But it also makes me a little terrified your sister could kill me."

"Oh, she absolutely could." Hecate admitted with a shrug. "It would probably be really easy for her to do it. She's just a sweetheart and never would."

"Then why does she need a bodyguard?" Calypso asked.

"If I had to guess, I'd say my sister doesn't like to use her power or strength, and doesn't like hurting people. So she doesn't fight back if people attack her. So she needs a bodyguard who will protect her." Hecate shrugged. "It's a strange circumstance I guess, but Andrea is really nice too, so I'm glad my sister found her."

"How well do you know Andrea?"

"Well, I don't know too much about her. When she was first hired she was kinda scary and took her job very seriously. But now I think she realizes why Nemi actually needs her, so she's not too worried about her health."

"What do you mean? The only reason people need bodyguards is if they're worried someone's going to attack them, so like, wouldn't that mean she's been attacked before?"

"Absolutely." Hecate chuckled. "But I think... It's hard to explain it, but I think that most of my siblings, if not all of them, have some form of Divinity that they were gifted with, but don't really know they have it."

"What do you mean?"

"Back before I was totally me and I was feral, I tore my mother's arm off and stuck my fingers into her eye sockets like I was going to pull her faceplate off. She just kinda, grumbled in pain and I watched bone and flesh reform from darkness."

"Whoa, you tried to kill Nyx?"

"She wasn't really my mom at that point, and I was scared." Hecate shrugged. "But it happened. I always attributed it to her just being really old and powerful. But I think they all were given some pieces of Divinity, either from the Gods they served or people believing in them. I don't know how exactly a person becomes a God, but I do think they are Gods."

"Have any of your siblings done things like that?"

"Reza talks about how she killed in Hade's name all the time. How she went toe to toe with actual Gods and defeated them, claiming protected mortal souls to the point the actual Gods began to fear her. Reza wasn't as good with flashy magic like my other siblings, but she could use defensive and offensive magic to augment herself to deadly efficiency."

"And Nemesis?"

"We... I don't really know what Nemesis did. I know the stories and the myths of her being this keeper of order, weighing the souls of the damned on scales to judge their worth and everything. But... I don't know if you noticed it, but the hair on the back of my neck stands up when I'm around her. Like... like there's something really wrong."

"I... I don't really think I've noticed anything like that. What's it feel like?"

"It feels like a predator is preparing to kill me."
