34. New Year's with you

Pablo's POV

Lucia was still sleeping peacefully next to me while I was already awake for half an hour or so. I think the schedule of the early training hours were burned into my brain, it almost felt like an inner clock waking me up every morning. I quietly got up and got ready to go over to my parent's room. Tonight was New Year's and I planned on taking Lu out on a date, just us two. To do that, I wanted to ask my parents if that was alright if we did our own thing for the night. I tiptoed outside the room down to hallway, already knowing my mother was awake. My father opened the door and gave me a hug after inviting me inside. I quickly got under the covers of their bed, waiting for my mother to finish in the bathroom.

She finally came outside, gave me a pat on my leg and sat down next to me.

„Lucia's still sleeping?"

„Yeah she was pretty tired from yesterday."

„She looked really happy, holding hands and smiling all day." My mother said, giving me a soft smile. I could tell she loved Lucia just as much as I did.

I gave her the same smile back, feeling my cheeks heat up as we were talking about my girlfriend.

„Is it alright if we two sneak off tonight? I'd like to take Lucia out." I thought it would be a good moment to take her out on a date and enjoy some time only us two, ending the trip with only good moments.

„Sure! Where are you two going?!" My mom was enchanted by the idea, sitting down next to me and impatiently patted my thigh. My dad brushed his teeth in the meantime, popping his head around the corner of the bathroom to listen to our conversation.

„I'll take her to dinner first and then watch the fireworks from a rooftop bar."

„Did someone say rooftop bar?" Aurora screeched when she barged inside the room alongside Javi.

„Yeah but only me and Lucia." I said, knowing exactly what she was up to.

„Oh c'mon you lovebirds make me jealous." She whined but Javi smacked her arm in shock.

„Hey!?" He exclaimed, earning loud laughter from the whole family. My sister just gave him a quick peck onto his cheek, obviously meaning it was a joke. It wouldn't surprise me if those two were the definition of soulmates.

Shortly after the unplanned family gathering, I went back to my room to see if Lu was still sleeping.

I opened the door as quietly as I could, but then saw her ruffle around the bedsheets, opening her puffy eyes. Lu's hair was all over the place, the sheets were pulled up to her chin and she was yawning loudly. She looked too adorable to not annoy so jumped on top of her as carefully as possible and wrapped my arms around her.

„Good morning querida, last day of the yeeaarrr." I mumbled, pressing light kisses on her neck.

„your heavy Pablito." She groaned but I could feel her giggles from under me. I rolled onto my side, yet scooting closer so we were only inches apart.

„You were already out?" She asked sleepily, playing with my hair again.

„Mhm, we had an unexpected family gathering in my parents room." I kissed her nose, knowing she hated morning breath kisses.

„Ohoo, what did I miss?"

„Not much, just Javi and Aurora's bickering." I winked, not wanting to tell her yet about the date I planned for tonight.

I scrolled through Instagram, seeing another post of the famous page footy.gossip but couldn't do much as we were pictured in public. Ivan, my manager, achieved to sue the photographer who pictured us over the fence and we were told he was fired by the company. Apparently he put them into a bad light, even though the whole company was a joke themselves already.
