Evi:
"Evi, time to go!" My mom yells from downstairs.
"Coming!"
I take one last glimpse at my, now empty, room and close the door behind me.
I quickly run down the stairs with the last suitcase in my hand.
I have lived here for eighteen years and now we are moving. Not just to another village, but to a whole other country. The village is even smaller then this one and we don't know anyone there.
It kind of scares me and I tried everything to stop us from moving, but of course nothing worked.
My dad got a big promotion at word and he was always travelling. I understand he wants to spend more time with us and less time in his car and in hotels.
"Finally!" My brother says impatiently.
My dad takes the suitcase from me and puts it in his car.
Most of our stuff is already in Germany, except for some clothes and a toothbrush.
I get in the car and close the door. I immediately put on my music and stare through the window while my dad starts driving away.
'In the end' from Linkin Park is playing loudly in my ears and I wipe a tear from my cheek. The ride was long but easy without much troubles and in just a few hours we are finally at our new home.
From the moment my mom leaves the car, she starts talking to our new neighbours.
A somewhat older lady and a man, who I assume is her husband.
My parents already met them since they had to come here a few times to arrange some things for the move. I get my suitcase out the trunk and walk to the front door.
I immediately start looking for my room, which is not that hard to find since all my stuff is already in it.
After a long discussion I got the biggest room, parts from my parents room, ofcours.
I start unpacking some boxes and a sigh leaves my mouth as I look at all the boxes I still have to unpack. Since this will be our new home, I wanna unpack everything as quick as possible.
I start hanging up my clothes in my wardrobe and folding everything that has to be refolded, since it got all messed up while travelling.Faster then I thought I'm finally done and I run downstairs. I sit down next to my brother Nick and a big sigh leaves my mouth. "Finally."
"All done?" My brother looks at me and I nod.
"Almost, you?"
"Pretty much!"
"Nick! Evi! Come say hi to our new neighbours!" Mom yells from outside.
I look at my brother and roll my eyes.
"I guess we have no choise, huh?" I whisper as we both get up and walk outside.
We walk to our mom, who is still busy talking to the woman I saw earlier. When they see us, they stop talking and I reach my hand out to her.
"Hi, I'm Evi and this is my brother Nick."
"Simone, nice to meet you." I smile politely at the woman.
"I was just talking about you guys. Simone has two sons your age, Nick. Maybe you can go meet them later today?"
"Fine." Nick says indifferently. I give him an irritated look and then turn back to Simone.
"We would love to, ma'am."
"Please dear, call me Simone."
"Simone." I correct myself.
"They'll be home around 6 o'clock."
"We can't wait." I turn to my mom again and ask: "Is it okay if I go finish my room?"
"Ofcourse, sweetheart."
I turn around and walk back inside. I see my brother doing the same. We both walk upstairs and I can't help but be sad that she only has two sons. It would've been nice to know at least one person here. I start organizing my desk and try to put everything exactly as it was back home."We really have to go?" I turn my head where the sound is coming from and see my brother standing in the doorway.
"Why not? They are your age, might be good to know someone. I'm sure they are nice."
My brother sighs deeply and sits down on my bed. "Is your room ready?" I ask to change the subject. "Almost, I'll finish tomorrow."
Typical my brother, I think to myself. His room is always a mess!I take a look at my almost finished room and nod approvingly. Just a few details and I'm done. I wish I could finish it now, but since we are meeting up with the neighbours, I have to get ready.
I take the map with posters, who used to hang on the wall in my old room, and put them on my desk. I'll hang these up tomorrow, I think to myself.
I walk to the bathroom, take a quick shower and put some make up on.
I walk downstairs and enter the kitchen, where mom is. "What's for dinner?"
"We our going out for dinner with Simone."
"Okay." I take a bottle of water out of the fridge and almost drink it all in one go.
"Will her sons be there?"
"I think so, yes. We'll leave in an hour."
I nod and walk upstairs to my brother's room.
His door is open and I stand still in the doorway.
"We'll leave in an hour, we're going out for dinner with the new neighbours. You know, the woman from before."
My brother rolls his eyes and looks away.
"Make sure you're ready!" I close the door behind me and open the door to my own room.
I take my laptop out of my bag and put it on my desk. While it's starting up I walk to my wardrobe and look for something to wear. It's pretty warm outside, so maybe a dress?
I take a few dresses and put them on my bed.
I take the navy blue dress and hold it before me and look in the mirror. I quickly put it on and my blond wavy hair falls lightly over my shoulders.
I take some earnings and a necklace and put them on while scrolling through my Facebook feed.
I take one last look in the mirror before I walk downstairs. My brother and dad are sitting on the couch and my mom is still in the kitchen.
I wonder what's she doing there, since we are not having dinner at home.
"Finally!" Nick says annoyingly and looks at me.
"Why are you all dressed up like that?"
"I'm not all dressed up." I defend myself.
"Are we leaving?"
"Yes, I don't like to be late." My mom walks into the livingroom. I'm the first one to walk outside and Simone and Gordon are already waiting for us. I greet them with a smile and a handshake and my mom does the same.
"My boys are almost ready."
"No worries, we are not in a hurry."
My mom and Simone start talking and I have my eyes on the neighbours door, curious about those two boys.
