Landin's POV

The sound of my son's yells which had previously been loud was fading out more and more as I continued to watch D scroll through indeed. It's only been a week since she got fired from her job but she been acting like the world gone blow up if she doesn't find another one soon. The shit was insulting.

"What you want for dinner?" I asked throwing my arm behind her against the back of the couch.

She shrugged. "Whatever you want."

She ain't even look up from her laptop as she spoke to me.

"C'mon bruh we posed to be watching a movie." I spat slamming the laptop shut.

"Landin, stop!" She groaned opening it back up.

"What I just say?" I sat up. "You being rude to me and yo son right now, D."

She paused typing for a second, staring blankly at the screen before sighing heavily and shutting the computer.

"Better?"

"Almost." I smiled pulling her legs onto my lap and holding her close to me. "Enjoy yo family for once, bruh."

"Don't do that." She warned pointing her finger in my face. "I'm always enjoying y'all but I need to find another job, Landin."

"Why? We good."

"That may be true but you know I don't like feeling like you do everything." She whined.

"And what's wrong with that?" I questioned noticing my son playing with his toys in front of the TV.

"Son say mama you trippin'."

E looked like he was ready to say it as he wore a knowing grin and looked at D. Just as he opened his mouth she stopped him.

"You better not. Do you wanna take a nap?"

His smirk instantly dropped. "No!" He shouted.

"Ight then. Come sit with mama and watch the movie." She patted her lap.

E took no time running and climbing on the couch to sit in D's lap and cuddle her.

"Damn, bruh, you just gone take my spot like that?" I joked seeing he was all on my girl.

"Yep!" He declared.

I pretend to swing on him making him grab my arm and hold it.

"Awe hell nah." I snatched him from D's lap. "Who taught you that?"

He giggled wildly as I continued to throw little body shots his way. "Mommy!"

He reached for her but she just shook her head with a huge smile on her face. "Fight back, baby. Do what mommy showed you!"

As if he just needed her words of encouragement, E then swung on me, getting me good in my eye. I had to take a couple of seconds to regroup but once I did we was back at it.

"Get him, baby!" I heard D continue to encourage our son as he threw endless punches to my chest.

E was laughing so hard that he began to drool a bit so I slowed down grabbing a napkin from the coffee table and wiping his mouth. "Ight, chill out. You got me."
