Lester's POV
"You think you a big boy, huh?" I asked as I looked down at my son, who was completely enamored with the TV in front of us while he sat in my lap.
Sesame Street played, catching his attention while he held his bottle in his mouth. Legend looked at me with a slight mug before turning back to the television.
"Aye, bruh!" I laughed swiftly getting in his face. "Watch that shit."
"Stop cussing at my son!" Lee emerged back into the bedroom with Lester on her left hip. He stared at her with drool seeping from the corner of his lips while she stuffed a piece of garlic bread into her mouth.
My girl looked sexy as fuck. She pranced around in nothing but a pair of tiny shorts and a tank top with her purple polka dot robe on. Her hair sat crazy in a messy bun on top of her head but she was radiant nonetheless. I loved watching Lee in her natural state, she exuded beautiful energy even when she wasn't dressed up.
"Come here." I called her to me making her finally climb back into bed where I sat with Legend.
She sat Lester down on the bed and he immediately got excited grabbing at one of his many toys. He shouted with a smile showing off his dimples once his little fist got around the toy, he shook it fast screaming louder the more it went.
"Hi, baby!" Lee gushed taking Legend from my lap. She sat his now empty bottle on the dresser before giving her attention to him and kissing all over his face.
I watched in awe as our son giggled wildly from the attack of affection. Once Lee pretended to gnaw on his bare chest he got a lil carried away and took ahold of her glasses. She promptly stopped and sat up trying to pry them from him but he held his grip.
"Let it go, boy!" I laughed as I saw how happy he looked. His chubby cheeks sat so high that his big eyes looked squinted.
A warm feeling took over me hearing his throaty laughter fill up the room. Lee eventually got her glasses back, placing them on her face and instinctively curling up to me, getting comfortable in the crook of my arm.
"I wanna stay like this all day." I admitted as I looked down watching the sight in front of me.
It was beautiful. I had my girl here with me, snuggled all close while she played with our son. Their giggles kept the smile from leaving my face. And on my other side was my other son who kept himself occupied with the song from Elmo. Lester had a real obsession with Elmo, once he came on the TV he didn't care about anything else around him.
My mind went into the idea of marriage. That was all I wanted, to stay like this with my family. Where I sat right now was heaven. I felt like I wasn't missing anything, but truth be told I was. I was missing the opportunity to say I was here with my wife.
I knew I should've bought that ring last week.
"Why don't you?" Lee looked up at me before turning her attention back to our son.
"Cancel your session and stay home, baby. Let's be lazy today before I have to go back to work."
"I want to but I gotta go see Dr. Davis." I sighed thinking about what I wanted to say in therapy.
"Everything ok?" She looked up at me with worry all over her face.
I chuckled, she was adorable. I couldn't stop myself from pecking her lips to show my appreciation for how much my baby cared about a nigga. "I'm straight."
"You sure?"
I nodded. "It's just my mama."
She sighed. "Are you still feeling a way about her getting married?"
