Lee's POV

"Stop holding my baby like you crazy!" I fussed with a slight smirk as I saw Lester walk into the nursery, holding Legend close to his waist like a football.

"You talking bout me, look at you." He gleefully retorted pointing out my position in front of the recliner.

I was laid out on the floor with my head propped against the recliner, holding LJ up by my legs. He giggled wildly as I slowly raised my legs and brought them back down.

"Hush up, say daddy this our tummy time." I cooed grabbing the drooling child and holding him close to my chest.

"And he loves this shit. Ain't that right son?" He kept his grip on the back of our son's onesie as he slowly raised him so he could look at his face.

I watched in disappointment as I saw how happy Legend was to be held like some toy. That's exactly how Lester treated them; like his personal identical dolls. It was dangerously cute.

"Ight put my baby down." I joked.

Lester placed Legend on his play mat, making sure to turn on the musical toys. We both laughed in admiration when he started kicking his arms and legs, drooling on the mat while he babbled along to the music.

I looked down at LJ to see him already staring at me with those wide chocolatey eyes.

Unfortunately, they didn't get my eyes like I hoped they would. They officially looked just like their father, but I wasn't complaining. All my boys were beyond handsome.

"Stop growing on me." I whined as I took in how far they've come in just the five months they've been on this earth.

"Almost halfway to one!" Lester boasted with a smile as he took a seat on the floor next to me.

"Don't remind me."

I placed my head on his shoulder just as he pulled his phone out, taking photos of the three of us. Junior was notorious for hating cameras so we were able to get maybe three good photos in before he slapped Lester's phone from his hand.

"Damn." Lester cackled snatching the baby from my lap.

"You tryna scrap lil bruh? What's yo beef with my phone?" He taunted his son, holding his face close as he talked shit.

As always LJ paid him no mind, laughing hysterically in his face. I watched the two but was interrupted by my phone ringing once again.

Both me and Lester paused seeing it was my mama calling. I hadn't spoken to her since her rude comments the other day and I didn't plan on doing so anytime soon.

"Why you keep letting it ring out?"

"Huh?" I looked up to Lester who was placing LJ onto the mat to join his brother.

"Why every time she call you let the phone ring when you can just decline it like you do anybody else."

"Because I don't need to." I matched the irritated tone in his voice.

"I'm just saying you never do that unless it's her calling."

"Drop it." I warned making him shut up.

I told Lester what happened with my mother and he couldn't help but to remind me that I don't have to talk to her and can cut her off at any point. He let me know I should've never been over there in the first place because of what she's done in the past. He can't understand why I want to build somewhat of a relationship but it's not for him to understand.
