Lester's POV

I woke up to the sounds of Ms Rachel on the TV and the smell of cracking bacon cooking on the stove. My vision became clear as I fluttered my eyes before being met with my son's big, bright eyes. "Da da, da da!"

"Wassup, son?" I spoke groggily as I sat up and picked Lester up, taking him to the guest bathroom with me.

For the past two days, I been sleeping in here because Lee was mad at me. I get it, I went back on my word but damn. Some shit came up at work and I had to stay over, I couldn't understand why that was such a big fucking deal.

My son sat on the counter watching me with his mouth hanging open as I brushed my teeth and washed my face. Once I was done we walked back out where I saw the dining room table was set with 3 plates. Legend was already in his high chair stuffing eggs into his mouth.

Lee walked up looking beautiful in her scrubs. She skipped to me and my son with her arms wide open. If I didn't know any better I'd think she wanted some big group hug.

Instead, she grabbed LJ. "Hi, baby!" She pecked his face, holding him close as he giggled.

She completely ignored my presence as she waltzed over to the table, placing Junior in his chair before sitting and helping them eat. I slowly trudged into the kitchen and checked over the counter. There was no leftovers.

I opened the microwave, hoping to find a plate. That was just wishful thinking. I sighed to myself before grabbing a bowl from the cabinet. This shit needed to stop now.

I knew Lee was upset but damn. Letting a nigga starve was extra, especially over a misunderstanding. I think this was the most mad I've seen my wife in a minute and I didn't like it. Whereas most mornings before work she would cook and then go off to work while I get the boys ready for the day, she been changing up the schedule.

She called herself "sneaking" awake in the morning and making breakfast for herself and the boys only and purposely making her day harder by getting them dressed and taking them to my duke's house before going to work. Was being mad at me worth waking up an extra hour and a half early?

I gathered my bowl and spoon before pouring in the milk and cereal and silently taking a seat at the table. As soon as my ass hit the seat, she gathered LJ and got up, moving into the kitchen.

"Really, Taleeyah? You gone be on that childish ass shit?!"

She continued to ignore me as she finished feeding our son before disappearing up the stairs. About twenty minutes later they all were dressed and headed out the door. I didn't realize just how much I missed my baby's voice until I heard her murmur on their way out the door.

"Get the dishes if you can please."

I couldn't let her walk out that door without at least telling her goodbye and to have a good day. I caught up to them just as she was opening the door. "Lee." I grabbed her arm.

She said nothing as she snatched away from me but she stood still, giving me the opportunity to speak my peace. "Baby please talk to me. I know what I did was wrong, I just wanna move on."

She looked at me like I was some idiot before shaking her head and exiting the door without so much as a second glance. I aimlessly followed her to the driveway where she was putting the twins in the backseat.

"Lee I'm sorry, ok?! I'll be home ok?! I'll never leave the crib again if that's what you want! Is that what you want? I'll be here when you get back... dinner cooked and all if that's what you need, baby, ok?! You hear me?!"

I looked the same way I felt... like a lunatic. I was basically talking to myself as Lee acted like I wasn't even here. The whole time I was talking she strapped the boys in before confidently walking to her side and getting in. She paid me absolutely no mind as she backed out of the driveway and left me there.
