April
Lee's POV
"Don't you look so cute in your little shorts!" I melted as Lester showed my baby in the camera.
Both twins were dressed in navy blue Jordan shorts with matching grey tops and matching retro blue Jordan 4s. I wasn't surprised to see Lester made sure they wore the small gold-plated chains with their names engraved on them that he bought along with matching bracelets.
Legend smiled big, showing his drool-covered gums off as she babbled to me. He was the more talkative of the two so far, he was eager to yap those gums at you as soon as you spoke to him. My heart skipped a beat as my cheeks burned watching my son look so enamored with me through the phone. A line of drool came down hitting his bare leg as he leaned closer to the phone trying to reach for me.
"Ight, now." Lester joked pulling his son farther back into his lap.
I saw as he grabbed a nearby napkin promptly wiping the small mess from his leg.
"Say dada!" He encouraged as he picked the small giggly child up, placing him into his car seat.
"Make sure you put the blankets over them still." I suggested. "I don't want them getting cold."
"It's sunny outside." He spoke focusing on strapping Junior into his car seat. I could hear his little hums as he tried to talk to this father.
"But it's only 55 degrees. I don't need them getting sick."
"Ight, mama." He sighed placing his hands up in surrender before leaning closer into the car seat.
"Tell Mama hush."
"I'm just tryna take precaution."
"I get it but they straight. We getting right in the car and I'm dropping them off to my mama then I'm going to therapy." He explained picking his phone up.
I could tell he was standing by the balcony door because I got great light there and it gave your skin the perfect glow.
"You look nice." I complimented seeing the freshly faded sides of his head.
"Don't lie to me, I need a retwist." He mugged the camera before licking his lips, more so focused on looking at himself on our FaceTime call.
I laughed watching him toy around in his dreads before dramatically dropping the phone on the couch with a dramatic sigh. All I saw was the light fixtures on the ceiling but I heard my baby daddy groaning and my son babbling loudly. It was the definition of chaos.
My laugh was distracted when I noticed I was getting another call from D.
"Baby let me call you back. D is calling."
Just then his huge head popped back into the camera. "Ight, I love you."
"I love you too." I blushed. "And I'm gonna pick them up on my way home from work."
"Bet. I'll be back home tonight."
"Ok, don't be out too late though, ok?"
"I won't." He smirked. "I know you be missing Daddy."
"Ew!" I joked hanging up on him to finally answer D's call.
Once I did I saw she was lying in bed with nothing but a sports bra and a pair of jogging pants. I could hear my nephew in the back and knew she was just calling out of boredom, but I didn't care because I was eager to hear from my girl.
"Hey, beautiful! How you doing?"
She sighed staring off for a split second before forcing a small smile on her face. "I'm ok just still tryna find a job."
