"Ok just as we practiced Lucifer. You got this!" I took a deep breath, calming my nerves.

"Lucifer" Lilith appeared behind me "are you alright?"

I took a deep breath before turning to her "yes! I'm just preparing my notes, being all professional"

She bent down and fixed my tie "now honey if you start to forget some words just look at me and I'll mouth the words to you"

"Lilith I'll be fine" I squeezed her shoulders reassuring "I just gotta follow my heart and I'll inspire them all. Oh what if I-"

"Okay" I sighed "I guess I'll just have to rely on my impeccable improv" I put on a British accent, making her laugh.

"Oh that's me! Wish me luck!" I blew her a kiss before rushing to the set.

"Welcome to the show Mr morningstar" the news anchor was a dark haired deer demon with white freckles and dark eyes. She gave me a kind smile "can you tell us about your new passion project"

"Of course" I nodded nervously. Lilith gave me a reassuring nod. I took a deep breath and started "as you all know I'm your king and a past arch angels but for a long time I've wanted more for you all" I stood up, addressing the crowd "we just went through another extermination and it breaks my heart to see my people suffer like this. They're not even given a chance!" I slammed my fist down angrily "that's why I'm opening the first of its kind. Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you the morningstar hotel, a hotel that reabilatates sinners"

The silence was deafening. My neaves started to get the best of me "you know cause a hotel is for people passing through temporary"

"Stupid bitch" the cameraman muttered, earning a punch from Lilith.

I sighed "look I know there's good in every single one of you"

"And you know that how?" A person in the crowd glared at me.

"This idiot wants us to be good just because?" The people began to laugh. I felt my cheeks redden.

"Do you have any proof this works?" The reporter asked.

"Yes, we have a client that's making fantastic progress" I said determinedly.

"Oh really? Well we'd love to hear about that" the reporter said brightly.

"Yes his name is-" I stopped, remembering Adams request "sorry I can't say"

"How fucking convenient" the crowd booed "a bet you don't have to client at all. Face it, no one believes in your wacked out dream and no one ever will!"

"Shut up!" I slammed my fist down, breaking the desk in half. The sinners fell silent, their eyes filled with fear "I'm sorry I have to go" I ran out before they could see my tears.

"Lucifer" Lilith found me curled up, trying to contain my tears.

"I'm sorry Lilith, I ruined everything" I sobbed.

"Shh it's alright love" she gently wiped my tears away "let's just go home"

We headed into the limo where Adam was waiting inside.

"I saw the whole thing. Don't feel too bad ok buddy" I nodded glumly at his words.

"You know things may have gone better if you allowed us to mention you" Adam shrunk down at Lilith's cruel words.

"Lilith that's not fair" I said firmly "Adam just didn't want to be put in the spotlight"

"Oh please, his whole damn career is being in the spotlight" Lilith growled "I think your whole thing about eve was a lie. I think you just wanted to save your reputation"

"That's not-" he was cut off by several dings coming from his pocket. He pulled out his phone, scanning through the screen. I sunk back into his seat, his eyes flooded with concern.

I flew over, taking a seat next to him "is everything alright Adam?"

"Yeah everything's cool" he quickly hid his phone.

I gave him a kind smile "you know you can talk to me if something wrong. We're friends after all"

"Yeah I guess we are" he cracked a smile.

I lay my head back with a sigh. What a shit show!
