Lucifer's pov
I woke up with a smile on my face. Yesterday I saved my friend's soul from a monster. It makes me feel like we're one step closer to saving my people.
I leaned over and kissed my wife's forehead "morning love"
"Morning darling" she stroked my cheek "it's nice to see you smile again"
"Well we saved Adam yesterday. What reason would I have not to smile" I lay against her chest
"Good point" she ran her fingers through my hair "did you see him last night. I don't think I've ever seen him that much at peace"
"Yeah it was beautiful" I sat up with a smile "speaking of Adam let's go check up on him"
We walked downstairs where Adam was enjoying breaking with a lute and his boys. I flew up and hugged him from behind.
"Morning!" I rubbed my cheek against his.
"Morning Luc" he flashed me a smile. Seeing him so genuinely happy made my heart swell.
"Here mom, dad. I made everyone breakfast" Charlie placed two plates down in front of us.
"Thanks honey" I kissed her cheek before sitting opposite her. We sat together talking and laughing, feeling at peace for the first time in ages when there was a knock on the door.
I opened the door to see two men, a snake and an angler fish standing there.
"Hello?" I raised an eyebrow at the two men in front of me.
"Greetings good sir" the snake held out his hand "I am sir pensious and this is my associate Baxter"
"And we come to stay at your little hotel" he gleamed mysteriously "I am here for simple research"
"And I'm here because I don't have anywhere else to go" sir pensious muttered in embarrassment.
"Well you're both very welcome here" I said brightly "say Baxter what kind of research are you doing"
"Why to see if redemption is possible of course" he said simply "I hold the stance that it's impossible"
"Well I'll just have to change your mind" I said confidently.
"I look forward to seeing you try" he let out a manic laugh and he headed inside, sir pensious close behind.
"A new bad boy" nifty gasped as she bounced up to him.
"Don't insult me women I'm a scientist" he glared at her.
"Oh a science bad boy. Let's do science together" she tugged on his arm excitedly.
"I do need a new test subject" he said thoughtfully "alright dear woman, let's go"
"Should we be worried?" I asked nervously.
"I wouldn't be. That chick is superhuman" angel muttered.
*Time skip*
"Hehe more more!" Nifty giggled as she was tied down to the table, being prodded by all kinds of sharp objects.
"You're pain tolerance is out of this realm" he wrote down some notes with an excited glint in his eyes "you truly are the perfect test subject"
I gave them a worried glance as I walked downstairs. Down there angel was having a discussion with sir pensious.
"So you're an inventor huh?" Angel eyed him in interest.
"Indeed. I've been perfecting my craft for over 200 years" he said proudly.
"Impressive. Say you think you could add some new function's to my vibraitor? I'm getting tired of it"
"Eh what's a vibrator?" He tilted his head in confusion.
"You're nieve. I like that in a man" angel smirked. Sir pensious looked away awkwardly.
"So what do you think of our new guests?" Lilith asked.
"Well they're a little odd but sir pensious seems like a sweet guy and it is nice not to be the shortest guy anymore" I looked over at the others with a smile. It's nice to see everyone getting along-
"We interrupt whatever wholesome bullshit you have going on to let you know that we've royally fucked!" The TV turned to the clock, depicting a new countdown.
"Oh fuck" I muttered to myself.
