Lucifer's pov

I headed into the kitchen, ready to enjoy the chocolate I'd been saving for a while only to find it gone.

"Huh?" I looked around desperately only to hear a crunch behind me. I slowly turned around to see Michael eating my bar.

"You motherfucker!" I yelled.

"Huh?" He looked up "the fucks your problem?"

I charged at him, sending him into the living room "let's just make this clear asshole. You're only here because Adam pleaded your case. You're on thin ice so quit pissing me off"

"Oh fuck off. I don't have to follow your rules" he growled.

"Yes you do. This is my roof bitch!"

"Well fuck you. I'll do whatever the fuck I want"

"Why you-"

"Enough!" Lilith slammed our heads together, making us reel back in shock.

"We're all getting pretty sick of your constant bitching" Adam rolled his eyes. The others nodded in agreement.

"But he started it!" We pointed at each other angrily.

Lilith sighed "I didn't want to do this but desperate times calls for desperate measures" she turned to the others "everyone we're going to go on a little day trip. Lucifer and Michael are going to stay behind and watch the hotel"

"What!?" We yelled in unison.

"This hotel better be still be standing when we get back or you'll both be in shit" she warned us as she usuered the others outside, leaving us alone.

"Fuck" Michael cursed "I'm stuck alone with you now"

"Hey this isn't exactly my idea of a fun time either" I growled "why couldn't you just stay dead?"

"Why couldn't you drop dead!" He grabbed me by the shirt. The two of us glared at each other before pulling away with a sigh.

"What happened us Michael? Twins aren't supposed to act like this" his face softened at my words.

"I don't know" he answered honestly "I'd like to say it happened cause you're a traitorous prick but the truth is I've felt this way for a long time"

"Yeah" I muttered softly "I kinda remember how it happened"

*Flashback*

"Hai-ya!" I watched as my twin practiced his swing. I rolled my eyes. Why does he work so hard anyway? We're teenagers, we're supposed to be having fun!

"Micky!" I jumped on his back.

"Lucifer" he gave me an annoyed look.

"Aw why are you always so mad when I'm around?" I pouted.

"Because every time you show up you end up distracting me" he groaned.

"Well I can't help that you're always working" I let go of him with a sigh "so are you going to hit the dummy or not?"

"Of course I am" he glared at me before taking a deep breath and hitting the dummy, slicing down to its shoulders.

"Hey can I try?" I asked.

"I don't see why not" he shrugged.

"Cool" I took the sword and sliced through the dummy with ease. Everyone started to cheer for me "aw thanks" I smiled bashfully.

"Lucky shot" Michael grumbled.

"Excellent work son" father appeared. He handed off baby azreal to Raphael before approaching me "I'm starting up a heavenly protection force and I think you'd be perfect to run it"

"That's not fair! I work far harder than Lucifer. I should get the job!" Michael argued.

"I'd have to agree father. Lucifer isn't exactly the mature type" Raphael muttered as baby azreal tapped his face. I shot him a hurt look. Rude!

"Well there's only one way to settle this" father grinned excitedly "sudden death match. Whoever wins gets the job"

"No hard feelings Micky" I smiled confidently.

"That's what I was going to say" he charged at me, his movements were quick and precise but he couldn't keep up with my wild and unpredictable moves. In the end I won.

"And victory is mine" I held my fist up as everyone cheered.

"No" Michael muttered as he stood up slowly "I'm not going to lose this chance. Not to you!" He charged at me. I braced for impact when father stepped in the way.

"I'm disappointed Michael" he said sternly "I would have expected you to accept defeat gracefully" Michael hung his head "come Lucifer. We have to discuss your new role"

As he led me away I saw a look on my brother's face I'd never seen before..

Pure hatred.

*End of flashback*

"Now that I think back dad was super hard on you. It must have been hard always getting outshined by me" I gave him a pitying look. He gave a hmp in response "but it was hard for me too. I was left out and treated like a troublemaker throughout my entire life" I stood up and held my hand out to him "we've been the black sheeps of our family. We should at least have each other's backs"

He cracked a smile as he took my hand "fine. I guess if we're stuck together we might as well get along"

I smiled softly, gaining a new understanding for the brother I thought I lost years ago.
