Adams pov
"And then her poor assistant made the mistakes of bringing her apple slices as a snack. She screamed at the poor bastard for five hours straight" I retold a tale to lute as we returned to the hotel.
"Hehe what a nightmare" lute chuckled softly.
"Yeah but on the plus side that incident gave me the idea to name my pet apple slices-"
"Adam!" Lucifer pulled me into a hug "I'm so sorry. I promise I'll never ever get into your business again-"
"Lucifer. It's okay" I hesitantly petted his head "thanks for caring about me"
He looked up at me with tears in his eyes "things are going to get better buddy. I'm not going to stop till I get you your soul back"
"What happened to not meddling?" I scoffed.
"Well this is good meddling so it doesn't count!" He winked at me "I'm glad you came home safe bubye!" He flew away before I could stop him. Lilith quickly took his place.
"Great" I sighed "I'm sure your loving this, me getting beat up by a girl and all that. Go on get your qips in-" I was cut off by Lilith pulling me into a hug.
"I always hated eve" she murmured against my ear "she was always a selfish bitch. You deserve better than her"
"Thanks bitch" I teared up as I hugged her back.
"I get you two a drink" lute nodded as she headed back to the bar.
"That sounds amazing Lulu" I smiled at her "just give me a moment" I ran over to Lucifer "hey Luc. Can I ask you a favour"
"Of course you can" he said brightly.
I looked around, making sure no one was listening in before leaning forward "lutes soul is also owned by some asshole"
"No" his eyes widened in disbelief.
I nodded "do me a favour and save her soul first"
"But Adam lute's situation while terrible isn't as bad as yours-"
"I'll be fine" I grabbed his shoulders "please luc do this for me"
He sighed "alright. Take care of yourself Addie" he patted my shoulder before disappearing.
I felt a smile crack as I returned back to the bar. Maybe things aren't so bad.
