Oz's POV
Sitting on the couch with a fierce pit bull staring at him was beginning to make Oz a little nervous. Though all his training reminded him, You're the future Alpha of the de la Vega pack. You shouldn't be afraid of a dog. It should be afraid of you.
Oz's eyes met the dog's gaze. The steady growling the pit bull had kept up since Oz' knock on the door increased. In a show of power and dominance, Oz stood, pulling his lips back from his perfectly shaped teeth and let out a horrendous growl.
The black pit bull's demeanor changed in an instant. With ears flat against his skull and his tail between his legs, the dog ran up stairs, perhaps to hide behind Rio's legs.
Oz chuckled. "That's what I thought."
Since he was already standing, Oz decided to wander around the living room. On the coffee table, there sat two pictures. One was of Mr. and Mrs. Sanchez on their wedding day, smiling happily into the camera. The second was at Wywano Hospital. An older looking Mrs. and Mr. Sanchez gazed at their little girl with love and pride. He couldn't remember where he heard the story, but he knew Rio was a miracle child. For years Alvin and Silvanna Sanchez tried and failed to have a baby of their own. Then, just as they were about to give up, Rio was conceived. Oz couldn't wait until he had a family of his own. If he had his way, he would get married as soon as possible so he could gaze into the eyes of his daughter and tell her how much he loved her. But first he had to find a mate worthy enough to be the Luna of the de la Vega pack.
"Okay! I'm ready!" Rio's voice shouted from the stairs. Startled, Oz stepped away from the pictures and listened for her footsteps. Rio bounced down the stairs with the pit bull at her heels. His heart hammered in his chest. He couldn't really believe that he had actually asked Rio Sanchez on a date after seventeen years of crushing on her.
When Rio stepped before him, Oz was sure he had fallen for her. Even though she was in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, Rio had never looked more beautiful than she had before. She must have done something different. Maybe curled her hair a little? Or applied a little makeup? Whatever it was, she was stunning.
"Wow," he breathed. Rio blushed under his gaze and tucked her hair behind her ears. Oz shook himself free of the spell she had placed him under. He cleared his throat and said, "Ready?
With a small smile, Rio replied, "Ready."
MMM..... What are they gunna do on their date!?
P.S. That cutie pie is Taj, BTW.
Comment. Vote! Read. Probably not in that order though.. ;)
Bye loves!
