Oz's POV
"That's hilarious!" Andre laughed, the sound echoing through the woods. "Oz? Did you hear it? Isaac, say it again."
The shy man smiled and nodded, briefly glancing in Oz's direction. He started, "A woman has twins and gives them up for adoption. One goes to a family in Egypt and is named Amal. The other goes to Spain and is named Juan. Years later, Juan sends a picture of himself to his birth mother. When she saw it, she told her husband that she wished she also had a picture of Amal. Her husband said, 'But they are twins. If you've seen Juan, you've seen Amal!' Ha! Get it?"
Vincent snorted and Oz chuckled.
"That is pretty good," Oz admitted.
"See!" Andre crowed. "I told you he'd like it!"
Oz's smile widened and he turned back to the empty forest. There was something wrong, he just couldn't put his finger on it. Just then, he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. Oz pulled it out and answered, "Alice Grace? Why are you calling me?"
The rest of the guys beside him quieted as his cousin's sobbing and hiccupping voice trickled through the speakers. He couldn't understand a thing she said.
"Alice Grace!" he shouted into the phone, turning away from the others. "Calm down! Tell me what happened!"
Through her sobs, Alice Grace said, "Its Rio! She's gone!"
Horror filled Oz's every being.
The phone slipped past his fingers, landing on the dirt below him. Vincent picked up the phone and put it to his ear. While he calmed his sister down, Andre came up behind his frozen Alpha.
"Oz?" Andre asked softly.
Abruptly, Oz regained his ability to move. As Andre tried to talk him out of doing anything rash, Oz was already stripping out of his clothes. The only thing on his mind was his missing mate. He needed to shift. And he needed to shift now.
Skin melted away to coarse black and gray fur. His dark brown eyes were the only thing left of his human side. Andre tried to keep Oz's wolf from murdering anything in sight, but Oz snapped and growled at him. The human side of Oz was long gone, replaced by a snarling, angry wolf.
Oz sprinted through the woods towards his home, desperately pushing himself to go faster than he'd ever gone before. His claws dug into the dirt as he ran.
Almost seven minutes later, his house was in sight. Except it wasn't his house anymore. The door was busted off the hinges and the windows were shattered inward.
The stench of intruders filled his nose as Oz loped through the house, searching every room for his love.
Oz padded into the upstairs bathroom on his search of the house. He stuck his snout into the garbage can, just to be sure she wasn't hiding there, when he found a long, skinny, plastic thing.
With his claws, he pulled the trashcan over to get a better look at the strange piece of plastic. His wolf eyes widened as his human side realized what it was.
Sitting back on his haunches, Oz let out a mournful howl for his lost mate and his equally lost child.
OOOOOOOOHHHHHH sh*t!!!!
Rio's preggers! And gone!
OOH my goodness.
What's going to happen next!?
Haha. You wish. I ain't telling anything.
