Rio's POV
"What's your mom's name?" asked Oz, flipping on the heat. Rio was sitting in the passenger seat, shivering from the cold. In the distance, thunder rumbled and wind whipped through the streets. The thunderstorm would be upon them soon.
"Silvanna," replied Rio.
"Silv-ah-nah?" Oz asked, drawing out the syllables to see if he pronounced it right.
"Yeah. It's a strange name."
Oz chuckled. "So is yours."
"Mario is a good name," scoffed Rio. "It's just meant for a guy who fixes toilets for a living."
"Eh," Oz shrugged. "You're a beautiful Mario."
Rio blushed. "Thanks."
She gazed out the window and watched lightning flash miles away. She mused, "Do you think there will be a tornado?"
"A tornado? In Wywano? Are you feeling okay?" laughed Oz.
"It happens all across the state. Why wouldn't it happen here?" Rio shrugged. "I just have a really bad feeling."
"About what?"
"I don't know exactly. I just have a feeling that something bad is about to happen," said Rio.
"It'll be okay," replied Oz. He patted her knee. "Don't worry."
"Yeah... I guess," Rio sighed. She watched the trees go by as Oz drove her home. They were on their way to officially meet her parents as a couple. Her nerves were on overdrive. She wasn't sure if her father would agree with her relationship with Oz.
If he didn't like Oz, too bad. Rio was committed. She finally admitted that she loved Oz more than anything else in the world. Her love for Taj was the only thing that could compete with her love for Oz, though her love for Oz was definitely winning.
"So what should I call your dad, then? I'm assuming I can't call him Alvin?" asked Oz.
Rio chuckled. "You're right. He wouldn't like it if you called him by his first name. But he probably won't like Sir either. So maybe call him... Mr. Sanchez or something."
"Mr. Sanchez or Something, thank you for letting me date your daughter," practiced Oz. He cracked a smile when he saw Rio's shoulders shake from the corner of his eye. "How was that?"
"Perfect," laughed Rio, placing her hand on Oz's arm. In a softer voice, she said, "He'll love you. I promise."
"I hope so."
Okay, so maybe I lied.
I'm in the process of writing the something big that happens soon. But it's going really slowly. And it's bothering me. A lot.
But anyway, do you think Oz is nervous?
Have a great night, Loves!
I'll try to have the something-big-happening chapter up next.
Read. Comment. Vote.
Bye loves!
Wish me luck.
I need it.
