Rio's POV
"Who are you?" a startled Rio asked the stranger.
The man, no doubt gorgeous, tilted his head and begun slowly circling her. His movements made Rio feel as if a lion was stalking her. A lion that has really great fashion sense. Dressed in a plain white Armani suit, shiny black shoes, and a hint of a red tie hidden behind a button-up vest, the man looked a sexy Tom Felton. Rio couldn't help but to be repulsed that she thought the man circling her was attractive.
Finally, he spoke, "I am your brother."
"No. You can't be. I'm an only child."
The man shrugged one shoulder. "So you believe."
Rio set her jaw, determined not to let this stranger to get the best of her. "What do you want from me?"
"I don't want anything, dear sister," said the man. "I'm here to help you remember."
"Help me remember what?" asked Rio.
"Remember your mission."
Rio was beginning to get frustrated. The man didn't stop circling her; it was making her restless. And to make it worse, he wouldn't answer her questions. For the briefest of moments, Rio feared for her life. She wished she had let Vincent come with her. There was something otherworldly about the man.
"Don't be afraid, little sister," said the man. He had begun to close in on her, holding his hands in front of him. "I won't hurt you."
"What are you doing?" cried Rio, backing away until she was pressed into a tree. "Don't touch me!"
Ignoring her request, the strange man stopped in front of her and placed his hands on either side of her face. Rio's wide eyes watched as the man whispered unidentifiable words under his breath. The man let go of her and stepped back. There was a soft white light on the edges of her vision and a throbbing pain in the base of her skull, and then it was gone.
Suddenly the pain was back, but it wasn't throbbing. It was a shooting pain, traveling from her brain all the way to the tips of her fingers and toes. Rio fell to the ground, holding her hands to her head. Curling in on herself, she pinched her eyes shut against the world.
In the blink of an eye, all her pain was gone, replaced by something similar to calm. Rio stood on strong legs and looked around her with wide eyes, taking every sight, smell, and feel in.
"Hello, little sister," the man said from several feet away. Rio's eyes flicked to his, filling up with salty tears.
"It's good to see you, Malachi."
OOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Malachi is back bishes!
The story is half way over. I know, sad isn't it?
