Oz's POV
"Oh my God." Rio clutched her head in her hands and sunk to the floor. "Oh my God, Oz. I— I can't— I don't— Why wouldn't you let anyone tell me? Oh God, Oz. I feel horrible!"
"It's not your fault, Rio," Oz said, kneeling next to the weeping girl in his home. He rubbed her back and said, "It's not your fault."
"But I should have been there!" she cried. "I should have been there for you!"
Oz glanced at the floor with a smile. It warmed his heart that she cared enough about him to be upset that she didn't know about his parents' deaths. Wiping the grin off his face, Oz wrapped his arms around the fragile woman and held her as sobs racked her body.
"It's okay, Rio," he said softly. Rubbing her arm, he said, "Come on. Let's go on that date you came here for. Huh?"
The dark haired girl nodded and wiped her nose with her sleeve. Oz stood, grabbed her elbow and helped her up. Rio leaned against the wall and rubbed at her face. Her mascara was all over her cheeks.
"Where did you want to take me?" asked Oz.
"I— I had originally wanted t— to go to the aquarium," stuttered Rio. "B— But I don't know..."
"Then let's go to the aquarium," grinned Oz. Seeing her expression, he softened, "Are you okay to drive?"
"Yeah. I'm okay." She gave him a small smile. "I don't know what came over me. I'm sorry."
Oz waved his hand. "Nah. It's okay. I was like that too."
Rio glared and Oz winked. "That's not funny."
Leading her to the front door, he chuckled, "It's a little funny."
Sorry it's a little short. I can't get my brain to work properly. I start my first day of work tomorrow and I'm a little nervous.
But anyway, what'd you think of Rio's breakdown?
Was it legit enough?
Oz is super sweet right!?
I know. I just wanna eat him up!
Until next time loves!
