Oz's POV

Rio was in a state of mental shock again. Oz couldn't help but to think it was unhealthy for a person to lose someone close to them repeatedly. He was sure she would need a therapist. He probably needed one too.

The image of Taj's insides delicately and strategically placed in a cryptic message was burned to the backs of his eyelids:

Soon

The word had sent shivers up his spine whenever he thought it. And it didn't help that the same group of people killed his parents, Rio's parents, and now her beloved guard dog, Taj. The word proved the fact that there were people in the world who wanted to hurt Oz, and to do that they had to hurt Rio.

He needed to heed their warning. They were coming for her. They were coming for her soon. He wasn't sure how. And he wasn't quite sure why. All he knew is he needed to protect his future Luna.

Before he fully figured out what he was going to do, he purchased three tickets to London. Rio had to get all her things from her flat in London to her room in Oz's house. But Oz wasn't going to let her leave the country without him, and in this hectic time of need, he couldn't leave the country at all.

Oz was sending his cousin, Alice Grace, to pack everything needed, his Fourth in command, Isaac Frias, for the muscle, and his trusted old friend, Solomon Rivera, for protection. Oz needed Andre and Vincent in the States to help protect the pack.

With the new threat targeting Oz's mate and possibly other pack members, he was heightening security and making sure everyone was on high alert. There were families, children, and elderly in the community he was vowed to protect with his life.

Oz alone wasn't enough to rule the pack with a steady head. He had to be mated to Rio by the end of the week. Without her guidance and constant presence as his mate and Luna, Oz would surely go mad with the stress and emotional burdens.

He had Rio planning their small wedding ceremony to keep her mind off the emotional pain he knew she was in. With any luck, Rio's things would be moved into his house and they would be mated by the end of the week.

And he couldn't wait to have his angel by his side for the rest of eternity.

Honestly, I'm starting to think my promises aren't really working.

But I'm trying.
