Rio's POV

Rio had seven days to spend in Wywano. Her parents were ecstatic that she was coming back to spend time with them. She hadn't exactly told them she was coming back to see if what Alice Grace said was really true. If Oz really did like her and regretted what he tried to do, then there was a possibility that Rio would forgive him.

Butterflies exploded in her stomach. She was nervous to see him again. It had been two and a half years since she last talked to him. Rio wrapped her arms around her torso. Without Taj, she felt vulnerable. Because she was a broke college student, she couldn't afford to bring Taj to New Mexico. So Rio's neighbor, Eddie, said he could take care of him.

"You'll do fine," said Alice Grace, patting Rio's arm. The girls were on their way back from the airport, turning into the neighborhood that held so many memories. Rio sucked in a breath when she saw all the cars lining the street. Porsches, Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Bugatti's were scattered among Volvos, Audis, BMWs, and Fords.

The de la Vegas must know a lot of rich people, thought Rio. She suddenly felt self-conscious about the yellow cab she rode in. The taxi driver let her out at her house, and Rio rubbed her arms and looked around. She never really realized how small her house was compared to her neighbors' houses. Her two story 2-bedroom house was like a mouse when compared to the huge mansion like homes around her.

"Why is your cousin holding a ball anyway?" asked Rio, as Alice Grace pulled their suitcases from the trunk of the cab.

"His parents think he needs to get married," shrugged Alice Grace. "So they thought having a ball with a whole bunch of ladies invited would make it like a Cinderella thing so they'd be interested in him or something. I don't really know what they were thinking. All I know is I'm excited for sparkly dresses and dancing. Aren't you?"

"Yeah," Rio replied. In truth, she wasn't excited at all. Oz's parents were basically selling him off because they think he needs to be married to be successful. "I guess."

"Come on!" shouted Alice Grace, running up Rio's driveway. "There's only five hours until the ball and we need to get you dressed and pretty!"

During her stay in London, Alice Grace forced Rio to buy a dress. Well, Alice Grace bought it. But it would take Rio years to pay her debt to her friend.

What dress did Alice Grace buy Rio? Will Oz fall in love with her when he sees her in the next chapter?
