A/N: Not much angst in this one, it's just for the funnies.
Saturn forces Venus and Mercury to get along VIA a hang-out session, and things sure do happen!
THIS CHAPTER CONTAINS:
- Sassy Mercury. I miss Mercury being sassy, it was funny!- "Friendly" rivalry. They don't actually start fighting, might do that someday. Venus and Mercury certainly aren't friends... yet, but I will say they bond a little over their shared dislike for each other.
- Mercury's POV. We NEED more Mercury content. Oh, and there's Saturn too!
- They might be a LITTLE out of character, but I really like when people write their dynamic like this. I just hope you guys will like it too! :]
- For the Vercury shippers, I guess you can interpret this one if you like the ship. I'm pretty neutral on it, and I don't mind if you ship it all that much.
Art I made of Venus and Mercury :) you can see it as a ship if you want.
—When Saturn rounded both Mercury and Venus up separately, none of them were expecting a 'play-date'. By the grace of The Great Attractor, Saturn had managed to convince The Sun to let them have a little time alone with the promise of him baking cookies later. However, The Sun told Saturn specifically to not let them have any disturbances to other orbits, or there'd be 'consequences'.
Saturn tapped on Mercury's shoulder. "I talked to Venus recently, if he says anything mean to you, just tell me. I don't think he will, I've been talking to him about that," he said reassuringly.
"Do I have to see him?" Mercury whined, "Tell him it's too late. Tell him I died when I heard of his presence."
"Just talk to him. I know you want things to get better with him deep inside, and you won't have a chance to get anywhere if you don't at least try." Saturn urged, kneeling to fix Mercury's clothes to look more 'presentable'. Mercury would never understand how Saturn became one of Venus' closest friends. He asked him once, and his excuse was that Venus was 'interesting company'.
In the end, Mercury agreed to hang out with Venus. Saturn better not say I never do him any favors after this. Mercury followed Saturn to the asteroid belt, ready to deal with Venus. Again. Saturn chewed on his lip. "Don't antagonize him, please. I know it's hard but..." he trailed off, just wanting Mercury to get the hint.
Saturn picked up his pace, going to have a quick conversation with Venus. Whatever they were saying, Mercury couldn't hear, except for what Venus said afterwards. "It's fine if he doesn't want to see me, I really don't—" he responded beside Saturn, before stopping short when he saw Mercury not too far from them. "Uh."
Venus actually seemed to care about this little meet-up, Mercury realized. Venus looked at him with wide eyes like he was trying to search him out, coupled with a mild expression of panic.
