A/N: First of all, I ran a poll on one of my servers on which character people wanted me to write about next, and the winner was Houston, so here we are. Secondly, HAPPY PRIDE MONTH! All of you are AMAZING and deserve all the support and respect everybody deserves. Who cares, at the end of the day, because you are who you are and who's stopping you? This is your life, your story to tell, so make it the best narrative it can be.

SHIPS: None explicitly written, but if you ship RocketTexas (NASA x Houston) then go right on ahead. In my AU, Houston looks a LOT younger so I guess that's why so many people simp for him??

TIMELINE: Ambiguous

I don't normally like involving the personified countries into this... but I might as well. I'm not in the countryhumans fandom for sure, so don't expect much out of me. Also, there's nothing political about this— it's just based off the canon interactions in the show. I'm not trying to say anything political.

Some of this is based on my AU, where Houston is a lot more shady and morally gray than canonically! Although, don't trust him too much.

And yes, some parts of this chapter are inspired by this drawing by me, of course!

"All my troubles on a burning pile, all lit up and I start to smile." - Burning Pile, Mother Mother

The boardroom was tense, the air thick with the pressure of a meeting about to be finalized. Two of the world's most influential countries, The United States and China, were seated at the table, their expressions a mix of determination and barely contained hostility. Years of competition and unresolved grudges had finally come to a head.

The argument had started as a heated debate over the allocation of resources for a new project. The USA insisted on prioritizing the technical aspects, while China had argued for a larger share of the budget for promotional campaigns. Voices rose, accusations flew, and suddenly, they were both on their feet, shouting over each other.

"This is ridiculous!" China shouted, his face red (as if it wasn't already red) with anger. "You're always undermining my country!"

"Oh, please, China," The USA shot back, his eyes blazing. "Maybe if your team could deliver on time for once, we wouldn't have this issue!"

The tension boiled over. China lunged forward, and the other instinctively pushed back. Within seconds, the boardroom erupted into chaos as the two grappled, knocking over chairs and sending papers flying.

A sharp, authoritative voice cut through the commotion. "ENOUGH!"

All heads turned to see Houston, the Mission General, striding towards them. With surprising strength and a commanding presence, Houston stepped between the two, pushing them apart. "You two need to control yourselves," Houston snapped, glaring at both of them. "You both fight like pussies. I don't wanna hear any more shitty excuses from either of you. Grow. The fuck. Up."
