A/N: Hi guys! This is a new thing I'm trying out, basically where I show all my unfinished/abandoned WIPS here. Although, some of them are little more gruesome, so be careful!
SHIPS: None. Iris x Earth/Neptune shippers DNI because I fucking hate you guys. You all are disgusting. Actually, I decided to post this in the first place because even though I hate writing stuff with Iris in it, I just wanted to see your reaction. Yeah. Fuck you all. I hate you guys.
But for my other readers, I hope you all enjoy this. I'm so glad you guys find my writing interesting, and you guys are always the main source of my inspiration, believe it or not! You guys are SO cool.
CONTENT WARNING:
- Gore (such as disembowelment), blood, death. This is only for one fic— and it's one where Iris gets his ass handed to him by Earth. Again! :D—
(A/N: FULL STEAM AHEAD. This is an excerpt from an unfinished draft. The gore isn't that graphic but I'd still be careful! Remember that one GHE x Solarballs fic where Earth kills Iris? Yeah, it's that.. but more brutal... and with Iris not exactly being manipulative, but just being deranged. It gets to the part where Iris dies. So... Iris haters, relish in this one!
I didn't finish this because loss of motivation and I felt like Iris was OOC. Even though we don't see an actual personality from them, I just thought it was bad and things didn't match up. But I hope you guys like it for what it is. Consider this an alternate ending. I'll explain everything as it goes.)
-Iris stared at Earth for a long moment, head tilted, before their mouth split in a grin. "Oh, Earth. You already know, don't you?" they purred, in the same gentle voice that used to chase away Earth's biggest fears. "Thank goodness. I was so worried you wouldn't understand."
(A/N: Not sure if this is a common hc, but here Iris speaks so affectionately to Earth because they're his 'uncle'. Technically, I guess. Don't ask how, I just thought it was cool back then.)
"Understand?" Earth echoed. He saw surprise flash across their face, before they were distracted by a low, cold growl from him. "Understand- what, Iris?" he asked, his voice brittle. "What are you... what's talking about?"
(A/N: Two things to explain here. This excerpt starts with Earth going over to Iris' orbit to investigate whoever's doing mutations and whatnot, like I said the timeline is MESSY, and Iris assumes Earth knows when he asks about it. Also, that last part was NOT a grammar mistake. When in shock, most people don't have the best speech and slip up their sentences.)
Iris blinked, mildly intrigued. "Well, it must be when I mutated Neptune," he said, smiling.
"...what?"
Iris kept talking, senseless to the horror washing across Earth's bristling body. "I mean, I did mutate a couple moons before, but it's been so long you probably don't remember at all. I could barely deal with myself at the time; I still remember how much pain it caused me." He took a deep breath, corners of his mouth twitching up.
"But he's sleeping now. The moons are, too."
"You were the one who— my Earthlings," Earth croaked, and Iris focused back on him. His chest was rising and falling in rapid succession, his eyes stretched wide and tears pooling at the corner of his eyes.
"Hey... that came out wrong, Earth, it really wasn't like that. It's really not so hard once you learn how meaningless everything is. Then you can really revel in the hypocrisy, the freedom it brings. I mutated Neptune, but I didn't have to, see? If I didn't have to, then none of it matters." They stepped forward, and Earth suddenly pushed them back. They had the gall to look hurt, reaching out their hand before Earth swiped at it and they pulled away. "No, I'm just not explaining this right. You have to feel it for yourself, okay? You'd get it like I did-"
Before Iris could even move, Earth let out a ferocious shout and flung himself at them. The two of them writhed in furious tangle of teeth and fangs, until Iris knocked him away. "Cut it out, Earth, I don't want to fight you!" they growled. "This is for your own good, okay? Don't make it so hard!"
"YOU KILLED MY EARTHLINGS!" he wailed, blindly grasping to find purchase in every nook and cranny of Iris' surface. But his head was pounding so furiously he just lurched to the side instead, barely catching himself. Earth twisted around to find them. Deftly he grabbed onto Iris' body, dragging them off balance and swatting them to the ground, hard.
Iris grunted as their head smacked down onto an asteroid, and spat thick red blood out. They slowly got up. "You can love someone and still hate them," they panted, blood dripping from their mouth. "You can love someone and still hurt them."
"But I never really hurt Neptune or your Earthlings," Iris continued, approaching Earth once more. "They're wrapped in soft sleep now, and nothing hurts there. No one gets hungry in death. It was a trade, Earth, a swap- I took the life of the old Iris when theirs was taken. It means nothing, and it meant everything! Please, just try to understand!"
Earth hadn't even realized he had pulled an asteroid into his gravitational field. He felt burning hot anger rise up his throat, and he blindly swung out. "I DON'T CARE!" he screamed, as though his throat might tear. "YOU KILLED MY EARTHLINGS!"
Iris let out a piercing, visceral scream as their stomach all the way up to their throat got torn open. He had never heard his uncle scream like that. Earth barely held back a retch at the sight of writing intestines, slick with blood, sloughing out the wound. Earth pitched towards Iris, slowing as he watched Iris crumple to the ground, crying and twitching feebly in a thick, red pool. Earth wanted to help Iris out of instinct, but then he thought about a bloated, white worm crawling around Neptune's sunken eye socket, and he slowed.
An agonizing whine tore out of Iris and they weakly managed to lift their head, wheezing, and stared desperately at Earth. But there was nothing but wild anger and disgust in his eyes, and they let it fall back down. "am... am I dying? Please, please Earth— I don't want to- I'm-I'm scared—"
Earth's thoughts drowned out nearly every other sound, but through it, he could still hear Iris' tortured breathing. "It hhuuurts so much— why-" the last words that dragged themselves from Iris' body.

A/N: I didn't finish it, and I really hated it. But I do sincerely hope you guys enjoyed it. Again, couple things to unpack here.
1. Canonically, Iris has organs and a digestive system. So don't start saying stuff like "how did they even die from that??"
2. Earth kills Iris the way he does not just out of blind anger, but because he wanted Iris to know what death really is. The planet of life isn't just about life and the beauty of it. Life is hard. Life is rough. It's painful, and death is nothing like falling asleep and it's certainly nothing like how Iris described it as. Earth heard all he needed to know about Iris thinking he did his earthlings a favor by giving them the worst, dragged out deaths possible, so in return, Earth gave Iris one of the worst ways to go out.
Hope that made sense. I'm honestly nervous to upload this! I don't like GHE x Solarballs stuff a lot, and I left this in my drafts for a reason. I uploaded this because I just wanted to give an extra 'screw you' to the person who requested Iris x Earth.
